MOXFIELD LIST www.moxfield.com/decks/aIusrl2kJU60s4XDCJdT0w DISCLAIMER: Some of the lands that show up on moxfield , show up over $1, but they in fact are under $1 everywhere else!

Crawling Barrens was a star in my old Massacre Girl deck, wrathing then having a surprise creature to swing at an empty board. Because it uses +1/+1 counters that stick around it gets chunkier each activation!

What you call slow lands are actually tango lands (because it takes two to tango) / battle lands. The actual slow lands don't have land types and don't care if the two other lands are basics or not. The real slow lands are all above one dollar. Also I really don't like manlands in most cases, purely because the creatures they turn into just aren't that good and the ability to turn them into creatures is way overcosted. I'd almost always run a basic over a manland.

Manlands can situationally be incredible. The new Cactus Reserve is a tapped reflecting pool that ... kind of deserves a spot in Ur-Dragon and other decks with 8+ cost commanders. Some of these commanders cheat on mana (e.g. Ghalta Primal Hunger costs 12, but really it costs 2 to cast). Someonw taps out to to wipe the board? OH OKAYI guess I smack you for 8-12 damage with my CACTUS. Same with Lair of the Hydra in green ramp/landfall (probably simic). Post board wipe during the late game, you might just KO a player who forgot about your Hydraland. So some manlands can be good in the right deck because they're great contingency post board wipe that can actually kill a player. We're really not talking about lands that turn into like a vanilla 3/3 here, but lands that can win the game by themselves. So Hall of the Storm Giants is right on the edge for me, but still very playable. As a potential 7/7 it's big enough to matter post wrath and the opportunity cost for running it in your deck is that if you draw it late, it comes into play tapped but in your opening hand, it's just an island on turn 1 and 2. The other manland variety that is worthwhile in my mind, are those with evasion. If your deck is built around evasive creatures creating value via Thassas Trident or Toski or any other card that says "whenever a creature you control deals combat damage", then cards like Creeping Tar Pit are just super valuable, because they can't be interacted with via sorcery speed removal/board wipes and you can still get in for nearly guaranteed damage and trigger that card draw or other powerful effect. Then there's some cards that just synnergize so well with certain themes that they can be a worthy inclusion. Like Raging Ravine is very seldomly going to be worth a slot in your deck UNLESS you're a gruul or temur deck with a +1/+1 counters/proliferate theme. E.g. with Hardened Scales or Ozolith (green version) out, raging ravine really just needs to attack successfully ONCE to become a huge threat. Activate Raging Ravine and Ozolith on the same turn and you're attacking with a 7/7. Next turn you're attacking with an 11/11. If you're down to one or two opponents, that is the thing they need to take care of now and you didn't even have to cast a spell from your hand. You just pressure your opponent into bad chump-blocks until they find removal while happily drawing cards for a couple turns.

i like to play fast and aggro, so I've been taking tapped lands out of my decks. but shocks and fetches are out of my budget

Modal lands are some of my favorites to run because I can put more stuff in my deck without feeling bad about cutting lands. Zof consumption, malakir rebirth, and jwari disruption are faves of mine and I'm absolutely picking up a bunch of the MH3 ones coming out.
