Devils postpile looks like a petrified tree stump on it's side. Free flowing lava does not form itself into hexagonal shapes. Check out the Devil's Tower and Giants Causeway up close and you'll see the exact same hexagonal formation and columns. Thanks for posting this video, I really enjoyed it and I'll be visiting innyo county soon and your video inspired me to drive north past bishop ca.
Yes it was super beautiful! We got to swim with the shrimp in Mono Lake, had a picnic in June Lake , and a got amazing pictures of the views. We actually looked for Hot Creek, but got lost in the best way! Saw some beautiful cattle scenery 😍.
@@ailicec3855 Sounds like a fabulous escape if you ask me! ❤️ June lake is so breathtaking and Mono lake is so unique. We also got lost! 😂 And we also enjoyed our time while being lost. Mammoth is so beautiful, just remembering it makes me wanna go back. Didn't find Hot Creek? Well it gives you a reason to go back ❤️
April Lorenz thanks so much! One more question, I know now everything is first come first served, do you know the office hours times ? Can anyone come in at anytime of the day?
@@elizabethtorres1150 Honestly, I'm not sure. Check this link www.nps.gov/depo/planyourvisit/conditions.htm all the way to the bottom I found a phone number that maybe you can use, I can see that there's no shuttle service and I'm pretty sure their hours must be reduced.
@@elizabethtorres1150 the link that I sent you is specifically for devils post pile, but I'm sure they can give you some kind of information about campgrounds, might be worth a try?
