Actually Lucas and Mark are of same age so they should have both debuted in Dream since its a group of younger members but Lucas was too tall compared to the other Dream members so the company did not put him in Dream but Mark was put into that group .So Lucas keeps complaining about it since he always wanted to be in Dream but the company did not put him in it.

As I always say, yangyang is an ace. He is only 20 years old, he can speak 5 languages, can play an instrument, writes lyrics, the main rapper and vocals are very very beautiful, I especially love his dance skills. He is so hardworking and funny definitely god gifted him with talent

NCTzens collectively freaked out when it was announced that 2 new members would debut with NCT 2020 because they thought Jisung wouldn't be maknae anymore and no one knew how to handle that 🤣 There was much relief when it turned out the new members were older than Jisung

To answer your trainee question, most of them already knew each other since it typically takes years to train and debut. In shotaro's case, he didn't train for long since he was already a professional dancer and therefore has the skills to be in nct. The company decides whoever fits the concept the most can debut. Most of the old and new members trained together even before the first unit was formed.

When I became an NCTzen, I was dead set on Jaehyun being my bias. But I soon learned that you don’t pick a bias. A bias picks you. Jungwoo quickly captured my attention and is my NCT bias!

with the new members all of nct have trained with each other since they were kids (jisung was literally 10 when he joined the comapny), so they basically grew up together and its not like throwing random people into a group. but now that all of the SMROOKIES members have debuted and theyre doing stuff like NCT Hollywood where they don't know each other at all i guess we'll have to wait and see. but i know they'll be welcoming and take care of them like with Shotaro, him being the only member rn that didn't train with anyone predebut besides sungchan since he just joined the company last year

With Lucas and wanting to be in Dream - he's only slightly older than Mark, and originally Dream was the under 20's group, so he thought he might be in Dream but for whatever reason SM debuted him in NCT U and then WayV. He was always hanging out with Dream though

There are members that didn't train together. So, for example, the first members of Nct 127 debuted in 2016, but, simultaneously, we know that some nct members were still trainees or still joining the company that year. Shotaro literally joined SM in 2020 and debuted in Nct U, whereas Sungchan actually got to train with Jungwoo for a while, but debuted last year. It all varies. SM is always adding new members to Nct.

the reason lucas considered being in dream is bc dream was age based and he is the same age as mark, so in theory he could've joined. he never did tho and now dream is a 7 member unit anyway. usually it doesn't really matter if a unit is fixed bc 127 is fixed but started of at 7 and ended up having 10 members, but dream specifically became a fixed unit bc fans loved them so much. so i doubt that sm would add any members now

curious fact: lucas and chittaphon used to live with nct dream (except haechan and mark who live with 127) before they formed way v , and sungchan is shotaro apparently they are living with the Dreams at the moment

New members always start in NCT U then go to one of the present units or a new unit entirely. Sometimes the new members know the other members from their trainee days. There are times when they can be introduced to the group as new member entirely too.

Ah the last part! I’m glad you’ve seen most of the members now, all that’s left is to watch cherryverse’s “unhelpful guide to Sungchan and Shotaro”. Soon you’ll be able to recognize everyone in more songs and watching more fanmade content will definitely help. Most people have more than one bias for sure! Generally, we fo one bias for each unit! For example my 127 bias is Taeyong, WayV bias is Kun, Dream bias is Jeno and bc shotaro and sungchan have only been in U songs so far, Shotaro is my NCT U bias. The way the new members debut is they generally join on a NCT U song. They’re no longer trainees and they’re official members of the groups. They then join a fixed unit, for Lucas it was WayV and for Jungwoo it was 127. Sungchan and Shotaro have yet to join a fixed unit, so we suspect they’re gonna be put in a new unit. But it’s not always like that because in 2019, Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang were just trainees before debuting in WayV, they didn’t go through NCT U first. But they’ve all always been trainees before debuting. NCT are pretty private at times so we often find out information about them as trainees years later, for example our new member Sungchan has been a trainee for YEARS and knew most of them back then, he was even apart of a well known trainee story they’ve talked about before, but just never mentioned Sungchan because we obviously didn’t know him yet. SM also used to have something called SM Rookies where they would showcase future SM artists through various tv activities, live showcases and even a reality show. Most of the current NCT members were apart of SM Rookies too so a lot of us knew them from those contents and expected them to join NCT. Lucas, Jungwoo, Xiaojun, Yangyang, and Hendery’s pictures were posted on the SM Rookies accounts months before they were announced as debuting in NCT. Ningning from Aespa was also in SM Rookies! Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like SM is doing the SM Rookies program anymore as Sungchan and Shotaro weren’t in it and so we’re expecting that any new members will be more of a surprise. Konglish is the term for the combination of Korean and English in non native speakers of either languages. Mark does that A LOT lmao Can’t wait for more music reactions, especially albums, their albums are crazy good!

Well NCT is an ever growing group so they can add members anytime they want to. Like in 2018 there was only 18 members then they added 3 members and then I. 2020 they added 2 more members. Someone else could probably explain in better then me. I love NCT and I pretty much know everything about them but even sometimes their system confuses me lol.

every member was a trainee first. some of them who joined nct after the group's debut joined by debuting in a fixed unit immediately (like hendery, xiaojun and yangyang who debuted in wayv, or johnny who joined 127 for their first comeback) while others debuted through nct u first, gained some fans through that and joined a fixed unit later (like jungwoo and lucas for example). now the two newest members, shotaro and sungchan, have only been on nct u songs so far and we're waiting for them to join fixed units now ^^ most fans believe that there will be a japanese unit in the near future and shotaro (who is japanese) will just join there but that's not confirmed or anything

The first time someone is introduced into a sub-unit that is considered their debut date. So Lucas debuted in 2018 as a member of NCT-U with their song "Boss" because this was the first time we saw him participate in a NCT-U song. (This was also the first time we saw him as an official member of NCT overall.) And then he debuted again in January 2019 as an original member of WayV when WayV was first introduced as a group. So, the first time someone participates in a sub-unit project this is considered a debut for them. You either debut as an original member when the group is first formed or SM can decide that they want to add them to the sub-unit later on down the line and that will then become their individual debut date. That is why although NCT's official debut was in 2016, with NCT debut anniversaries can be different for each member depending on when they first made an appearance in the group.

I have one true bias it's Xiaojun!! That man's vocals is sooo soothing

So far, all members of NCT have trained under SM for various amounts of time. And a lot them have practically grown up together because of being trainees at the same time. There could be people in SM right now who are currently training that might end up in NCT in the future but we don't know who they are. For example, Sungchan debuted in NCT in 2020, but he was actually a trainee in SM long before his debut and he trained along side some of the members who had debuted before him. And Shotaro was already a professional dancer in Japan long before debuting in NCT 2020, but he still had to train a few months in SM before they told him he was going to debut in NCT. Shotaro recently did an interview and said that he and Sungchan had trained together for a while and then the company suddenly told him out of nowhere that he was going to be added to NCT. So when Shotaro first joined the company, he actually didn't know they were planning to debut him in NCT. He probably thought he was going to end up in some whole new group in the future. And now with the whole NCT Hollywood situation going on, we don't really know what SM has planned for the winner of that show. SM might make the winner train some more under the company before being added to the group or maybe they could debut right after winning. The future plans are unclear at the moment.

new members always debut in NCT U, (except for xiaojun, hendery, and yangyang but dw we still got to know them pre-debut) the rotational unit. this is where we see them for the first time, and get to know their talent (singing, rapping or dancing) The second debut, is when they are put into their permanent groups. For example, Lucas’ first debut was in NCT U - BOSS, his second debut was with his fixed group, WayV. Basically, trainees train until they get told they’re going to debut, it isnt like a set date thing. As we saw with shotaro, he joined SM in 2020 and debuted in 2020, so i think it all depends on whether or not SM thinks you’re good enough to debut with nct 🥰

many already knew each other regardless if they debuted some time after. some members who were still trainee when nct was forming but did not get picked yet they knew the current members however the few exceptiona like the two really new and young members like shotaro who was really new to SM for like a year or so before debuting so did not get that opportunity to build that foundation like some others~so it must have been quite an adjustment for him. But nct are very attentive and considerate & helped with the transition when preparing for his debut (which was a really big one since it was the album they were working with everyone) He is the opposite example of johnny who joined not in the debut of 127 (in mid 2016; it was 7 at first) but not long after the following year 2017~for the comeback however he was already close with the members already & trained with them and was in SM even longer in fact as a really young kid... even when exo were trainees, believe it or not, and even is close with some of them and trained with many of them; it is just he did not get to debut in the beginning with nct127 and was held for a bit longer but still it was not as difficult transition because these were people who already formed bonds with.

There are some members of NCT who trained together and joined later in the group (Mark & Lucas both trained together but Mark debuted in 2016 and Lucas joined the group in 2018). As for the new members Shotaro & Sungchan, they both trained together and Sungchan also trained with Jungwoo (who later joined NCT in 2018). So they sometimes overlapped during their trainee days and for some members who didn't trained with them, well they got to know each other during practice and recordings. Above all, they are all under the same brand -NCT

I love Mark singing 🥺 he recently said one of his dreams is to have an album fully written and produced by him I hope he gets to do it 💞

They are all trainees under SM and if the company decides to debut them if they are good enough then they debut .

You mentioned the Hoverboards, I hope you react to NCT Dream's debut song, Chewing Gum (Hoverboard Performance Version). The mainly performed the song on live music shows with the hoverboards, it's one of their signatures.

People who only have 1 bias in NCT have some serious will power.... I on the other hand have no will power and bias all 23 members.

I learned from koreans the it is written maknae but it's actually pronounced "mang-nae", the nae read "neh" I've completely given up choosing a bias in this group😂

Yeah the new members are just trainees that are chosen to debut into NCT. So usually other companies would debut a whole new group with trainees but since 2016 all newly debuted male trainees have went straight into NCT so that's how it is, they aren't like already chosen.

For me xiojun is real beautiful person i have ever seen .He need to debut as an actor in china his visual is insane and everyone call tell by looking at him that he is chinese without introduction. One more member Haechan i really love him and his mischevious.I will willing to listen his voice entire my life.

When I first saw NCT , I thought my bias was Lucas ,then Taeyong after that Ten ......but then finally Mark Lee got to me and became my ultimate bias ...I know for sure he is going to be forever favourite.

It's really hard to pick a NCT bias. I fell for Hendery after watch The Princess Vlog, so he is my bias. But I love all the 23 boys.

16:23 his nationality is chinese however the reason for him being so good in the language/Kor-culture could be explained as that china has many official ethnicities it is a big country (including koreans as well) and the region (jilin) he is from borders korea (north side) & its population overlaps ~it has majority of the people having korean ethnicities or ancestry/or mixed with (there are a lot of chinese nctzens who also believe he is most likely of the ethnicity prominent ~korean background~in that location; does not take away from his nationality though) plus many there also go to specialized schools who focus a lot on strengthening korean language/culture too such as himself went to a really popular one~however the dialects and slang would a bit different and more closer to the north so once moving to south korea it is still an adjustment to adapt the dialect & street language of whatever region you go to. the members also get shocked many times of how knowledgeable he is about korean culture & older pop culture as well (like songs, slangs, and movies) sometimes more than them~he keeps saying it is things he watched or did with his grandma. also There were pictures of him as a really young boy as well having celebrations/traditions and him & others there wearing korean tradition clothings and whatnot. He of all the foreign members have one of the strongest command of the language among them and his prononciations is very strong despite a different dialect/accent he may have initially used to ~to the point on variety show the hosts are confused regarding if he truly was born in china and not korea. which of course regardless of his ethnicity his nationality will still be where he grew up though and moving to a new country would still be challenging & an adjustment like the same way it was for mark and johnny who are also a different nationality (canada, america) but still korean ethnicity wise_it is still takes getting used to because even if you learn a lot of the language a lot from your parents & relatives the way kids your age would talk would be can be a bit different like there was a clip in weekly idol~ of mark even though his korean is good some guessing game confused him because of the slang questions or the abbreviations used by youngsters because it seems new & very local based ...that frustration can even be found even with many dialects within country you go from one region to another some things take time getting used so you can imagine for an overseas korean it would be even bigger adjustments needed.

The thing with SM is, they have a trainee system that trained the trainee with different long terms, it's depended on the person. Like Johnny, he came to korea 2008 and trained together with EXO members, the fans expected Johnny would debuted with EXO but he was not and then he trained together with SM Rookies (where all 15 NCT members included) and joined SR15B and then debuted in 2017 with NCT127, while Doyoung who debuted with NCT 127 with Johnny was debuted first in 2016 with NCT U (7th sense). Or Kun, he introduced as a member in SM rookies in 2015 and sang Without you chinese version together with Doyoung, Taeil and Jaehyun in 2016, perform black on black with NCT 2018 but his official debuted was in WayV in 2019. Also example, there's Renjun and Chenle that joined SM for few months and got debuted with NCT Dreams. Or maybe we can mention Lucas, who at first got joined SM in audition as a model in 2017, but apparently SM see that he has that potential as an idol so they included Lucas in SM Rookies (that's why in the video Lucas said he pass the audition only with 3 poses 😁) got official debuted in 2018 with NCT U (Boss) along with Jungwoo and NCT 2018. NCT members had different stories on their debuted journey, how they scouted, auditioned and passed the audition, they had their own stories :) I'm a baby NCTzen, so Czennies CMIIW please 😁 I hope that answered your question about the members :) Now you can continued on Shotaro and Sungchan 😁

So I just wanted to say incase you didn’t know now I know it’s been a whole month and you probably do know now but just incase I wanted to say that most of the members didn’t debut in U. So especially nct dream and 127 debuted just after the 5 members of U did (with the song the 7th sense). The members in U at that time were jaehyun taeyong mark ten and doyoung. Only ten wasn’t added to another group. The others went to 127 and were in the debut group, (except doyoung he didn’t debut with fire truck he was added with Johnny in limitless). Ten stayed doing different things in U, like baby don’t stop, his own solo songs, etc. The member that didn’t get the best treatment is kun because of this. As you know he was locked in sm basement for around 3 years before debuting with WAYV as the leader. He was in content with nct though in those three years. So we already knew about him, he just wasn’t in a unit apart from U so he didn’t get much chance. Since they never had every nct member together apart from in 2018 where they had all members (18 at the time) on a variety show. It was fun seeing them altogether. Also some members could know trainees even now from training with them. Like jungwoo knowing Sungchan since they were trainees together. It’s cute because he was really excited for him to debut, looks like he was proud of him. And since Sungchan and shotaro are new they’d know trainees that may debut at some point as well. It’s a pretty system but I’m hoping they can handle it and not have so many members having no lines (Winwin)

Thank you so much for the guide reaction🥺 i might just like to add for my bias, but when people says that Jaemin is a sweetheart. It’s seriously true. He’s probably love incarnate himself. He really does spread love to everyone, from his family, to his friends, to the fans and even to people in need. He was casted while doing volunteer work and has continued even after debuting. He treats the other members very well and always talks greatly about him mom and her teachings. I particularly like this line that his mom taught him which was “if you receive, you should know how to give.” Anyways he’s also a very great cook. Considered as the chef of dream(along with Chenle and Haechan). He spreads a lot of positivity to his fans as well. I think that’s it. His character is the part, that I really like people to know about.

My biases are Taeyong, Ten, Xiaojun, WinWin, Haechan, Jungwoo and Renjun so yeah... Who needs just 1 bias in NCT 🤣

well thats why in kpop stan world, they have the term Ult, bias and bias wrecker. Ult bias is ur no 1 and you have the most love for this member (you can have more than 1 ults), bias is just members that you biased and bias wrecker is someone who is not necessarily ur bias but sometimes can just wreck your bias list.

For some of the questions earlier in the reaction - Maknae is more like the second option 'a' wise, so it's NOT like MAC-nay, the 'a' is more 'ah' and the 'k' isn't as strong, so like mix between a k & g sound same as Gimpo or Gangnam that are mix g & k sounds (softer g/k sound). so it's like mahk/g-nae. About debut and trainee time. The already debuted members knew each other as trainees as they trained together but not all well, so like 127 trained together, Dream trained together but 127 and Dream hardly trained with the other unit. The foreign members aslo trained together like more with another group of trainees that Jungwoo and Sungchan belonged to while some WayV members and people who will debut in future won't be close to current members as they started training at a later time. The foreign members and Dream had similar schedule I believe as they mentioned spending off time as trainees together or living together as they live in dorms and people get shuffled that way as well. Think of it as a school - there are different grades and classes so they see each other and may know of each other and some have friends in different classes but not all and new classes come in with the years.

I have like 6 biases in NCT

When NCT debuted in 2016 they only have 15 members (NCT127, NCT Dream and Ten) and in 2018 they added 3 new members (Lucas, Jungwoo and Kun) and last year they added 2 new members again (Shotaro and Sungchan) which makes them a 23 member group. When they add new members, they are going to debut first in NCT U (because NCT U is a fixed unit but doesn't have fixed number of members, so the members changes every time NCT U makes a comeback). In 2018, Jungwoo, Lucas & Kun debuted with NCT through NCT U and after that SM let them debut again into their fixed units (Jungwoo in NCT 127 and Lucas & Kun in WayV). In 2020, Shotaro and Sungchan jined NCT and debuting through NCT U units, as of the moment Shotaro and Sungchan doesn't have a fixed unit because SM will still going to debut a new unit under NCT. note: SM will going to debut a new NCT unit this year and will be called NCT Hollywood (this unit will going to debut in US) and we don't know if this new unit will be the fixed unit for Sungchan & Shotaro but we hear reports that NCT will also debut a new unit 'NCT Japan' but the NCT Hollywood unit is the only confirmed project this year.

it's actually pronounced like "mahng-nae" !! in korean, the "k n" combination is really awkward to pronounce, so it's usually turned into "ng n". for example, the name haknyeon would be pronounced "hangnyeon." hope that helps!
