09:31 yeah it's definitely a cultural thing there's something called 'skinship culture' in Korea and it pretty much appears amongst all ages. You would also see two grandmas or two grandpas going down the street and holding hands. Naturally younger people are even more affectionate amongst each other. The thing is that touch is kinda really sexualized in the west, like dudes wouldn't give each other pecks, but in the east it's way more common to be extremely comfy and like family with your friends. So holding hands, head pats, jokingly biting each other or pecks within your own age group are quite a common sight. But of course there are also Koreans who are more comfy and less comfy with skinship. In Ateez you will probably quickly notice that Wooyoung is really into skinship like most of the members while Hongjoong and Jongho actively mention that they don't like it that much. It also kinda goes back to the age hirachy thing that is incredibly important in Korea. You always have to show respect and speak in a certain formal way to someone older than you but with people your age or younger you can be more casual. When you're close you call your older male friend a 'hyung' which means older brother. You will hear Hongjoong and Seonghwa be called that a lot by the younger members. And by having that family structure 'older takes cafe of the youngers' many Koreans really grow onto each other. I hope that explanation kind of helped, I can see why this open physical affection would irk someone from the west especially men since they tend to be less affectionate some type of way but you get used to seeing it with time. The world's very global nowadays but we still have our cultural differences which is nice since it widens our horizon to learn about that.
The fact that San is not the great dancer at the beginning was surprise all the Atiny,he work hard to dance and giving his own style of dance now he is was one of the greatest performer in 4th generation of kpop
We don’t mind pausing when you wanna talk, it’s hard to hear what your saying when the video is playing, also the names of the videos playing are in the bottom corner
I disagree lol Mark from Got7, Johnny from NCT, Tiffany from Girl’s Generation, Jay from Enhypen and many more are from America. Yes the system is tough but let’s not discriminate. It’s all about determination and hard work, not where a person is born.
The Korean training program would have a tough time in the U.S. number one, due to child labor laws in the U.S. Plenty of idols are in Korea from the U.S. so it's not that they can't handle the training. Some would be shot down due to child labor laws.
@@thedarkestpath7464 They’re Korean:D Probably their parents raise them more Korean mindset. It’s about hard work but you should also stay silent when you get scolded and have respect, you should live your life under pressure bc of kpop fans and kids in USA are more relax and they can’t handle that kind of life. Btw even JYPE’s CEO said this on Loud program you can watch it and he says same things to an american child and he decides to give up says he can’t live for fans.
Kpop Twitter is the largest population on Twitter. Haha It is actually scary sometimes. And I think theory is very true, because as an international fan, I discovered Ateez through those performance videos and followed them to debut. Now we are approaching the 3rd year! 🥺🥺 as a San bias I couldn't believe that he struggled with dance as a trainee.
The all black with caps performance was before their debut in June or July 2018.... It was called KQ Fellas performance video... You can find it on KQ entertainment channel.....
The parts where they're whispering in their interviews is because they're doing ASMR - it's pretty big in Korea. It's one of those love it or hate it type of things imo. I actually dislike this guide because I feel like certain clips (such as those) and several others really needed to include context. I know this guide is probably the most requested one out there, but honestly I feel like it's only good for people that are already a fan. (just my 2 cents, don't come for me atiny) I hope their updated guide will be more newcomer-friendly
Agreed i always recommended the other one where theres a segment to get to know their faces, cuz you dont need a lot of context, it pure just shows them and their talents.
Got a bit confused at first because of the order the parts were uploaded! Glad you did this, really enjoyed your reactions. Not sure what happened but the audio and visuals of the inset video were out of sync, though only like a second, I only really noticed it during the singing scenes.
Something that irritates me about these guide videos are their lack of detail. For example, Mingi is a highly skilled dancer and trained at a specialised dance academy with Yunho growing up. He’s also able to pick up on choreography very quickly and even creates some of the dances for Ateez along with Yunho
I believe Mingi choked Wooyoung, if I am wrong please correct me this just what I heard. When it comes to being touchy with friends I am only like this with my best friends; we are a mix of guys, girls, and non-binary.
