A Haunting We Will Go - Casper The Friendly Ghost 

Can’t cope with Casper crying. 🥺

I remember having that dvd when i was little! I also remember when i used to watch Casper cry then I'd start crying lol

I was born in 2007, and despite that, my parents raised me on many DVDs of old cartoons, such as Popeye, and of course Casper. It was great!

Still one of my all time favorites as a child! I watched this & the Sinbad The Sailor VHS tapes until they fell apart.

There's one moment from this cartoon that sticks with me for some reason. In a lot of Casper cartoons, he often saves the friends he makes by stopping a particular foil in the cartoon by approaching them and shouting something to the affect of "Don't hurt my friend!", etc. The same thing happened in the previous short, "There's Good Boos Tonight", the first one to do it, I think. This cartoon does away with that, and instead of saying anything to the dog or hunter, he just glares at the dog with fury in his eyes. Like he wants a friend of course, but this isn't just a cross look, he's looking at that dog with pure contempt for trying to hurt his duck friend, and doesn't care how scared the dog is of him. It's probably the angriest I've ever seen him in his cartoons. I mean after all that it could just be the quality of the print, and a restored volume would reduce the impact his anger appears to convey here, but I can't unsee it, no matter how many copies I come across. Casper, the Friendly Ghost, the guy who becomes upset or tearful when he can't get a friend, suddenly so angry he is beyond words? THAT is a powerful moment.

This is Telugu language we usually speak in South India...Well ..True Genuine feelings are always expressed in our Mother Tongue ..my mother language...I like our CASPER alot....I was really a very little kid & my brother made me see this for the first time...My Sister, Brother and I used to watch this little CASPER during our very childhood days...Miss my life of those days....

These old cartoons really make you hit the emotional rollercoaster! You cry because you think Casper's losing his friend, then like a minute later he gets them back. Sad then sweet and so many tears shed! :) P.S. I wanna know the name of the tune where Casper's teaching Dudley to fly! So great!

I know a lot of people can relate to Casper. Here he is an outcast among his ghostly brethren. All the other ghosts want to do is scare the living. All Casper wanted to do was try to make friends with the living. I feel sorry for him that the living people and animals run in fear of him before they get a chance to know him.

Ella gets annoyed at the rain, then uses the nest on top of them.) Narrator: Ah, friendship is such a beautiful thing. (Eyecatch before break) (Eyecatch after break) (A shot of Ella holding Dudley while flying in the sky is shown.) Ella/Cure Grape: I don’t think you’re old enough yet, but you have to learn how to fly sometime. (Dudley starts falling from the sky, but then Ella catches him in the nick of time.) Ella/Cure Grape: (giggles) That’s nothing. You just need some ground training first. (Ella puts her arms up like wings and starts flapping and Dudley does the same.) Ella/Cure Grape: Now watch me. (Ella starts running then starts flying then lands.) Ella/Cure Grape: Now you try it. (Dudley starts to get a head start and flies but then fell. But Dudley is not ready to give up, so he runs then finally flying!) Ella/Cure Grape: Hooray, you’re flying! Well, at last, you earned your wings! (Dudley follows Ella while flying, but then he saw a plastic duck and think it’s his mommy. So he flies to the plastic duck. A shot of a hunter and a dog in a boat is shown. A shot of Dudley playing with the plastic duck is shown.) (A shot of Ella flying is shown.) Ella/Cure Grape: Well, I don’t think you can do much more in the first- Hey Dudley, where are you? (Dudley is still playing with the fake duck, then the hunter is ready to shoot Dudley and kill him, when he saws a flock of ducks flying and decides the shoot them instead of Dudley. Dudley flies over to his family. Ella starts to find Dudley.) Ella/Cure Grape: Dudley, where are you? Dudley! Dudley! (Suddenly the bullets starts flying towards the ducks, they flew away. Dudley starts flying away from the bullets. Ella saws that Dudley is in trouble and starts to save him.) Then the bullets hit Dudley then he passes out. Then the dog starts running over to Dudley and chew him up. Ella tries to stop Dudley from falling before the dog, Ella catches Dudley and the dog bites her, Ella gets mad at the dog for killing Dudley. Then the dog gets scared and scampers off.) Hunter: A Pretty Cure! (The hunter gets scared as well and speeds away and the dog follows him. A shot of Ella with Dudley and the ducks at a pond with shown. Ella sits on the nest and gets sad.) Ella/Cure Grape: (cries) Oh, Dudley. (The ducks get sad as well of Dudley’s death.) Ella/Cure Grape: It’s me, Ella, your old pal, your buddy! Casper the friendly 👻 ghost is already dead and he said I might as well as be dead, lots of laugh and hilarious. Maybe he thinks that he is already a living being, he is my favorite cartoon character as a little kid in the 1970's.
