Joe is so relatable this episode, I had the biggest crush on flannery when I was a kid! 🤣 Calling them the bloods and the crips was sending me too LOL, love it!
This is the one pokemon series that I'm super into. The gym battles especially are so entertaining, the script is fresh, and the editing makes these episodes so much easier to watch. Well done!
Milotic all the way that was gonna be one of my suggestions but I didn’t think doing all the setup for it would be done so Milotic would be cool and you can do a beauty contest episode😂
Know these three and the grueling editing hours dylxan puts into these episodes, I feel a feebas episode is coming. the episode with the most arguing, just about which tile to fish.
YES. Episode 8! This marks the final request of a whiscash named boat. Sharpedo is too freakin frail and eq by level up is crazy good so I think it makes sense. With that being said, I don’t think you should rely on a voters to pick the water type. Just choose the 1 you would like. Btw, barboach is found on the same route as the desert so if you end up picking it, you can just fish it there rather than needing to backtrack all the way to fallabror. I’m exited to see what you pick. I’m sure it will be great. My heart was pounding as I was watching titan rollout on the torkoal. My favourite gym is the same one as Donald’s. I just think it is funny that Wallace\Juan has a bunch of bitches trapped below the ice.
Good to know brotha I appreciate you. At the end of the next episode you will see some super hype progress on that water type. Hope you're looking forward to it. Glad you liked the episode! I've never thought of the gym like that lmao but yeah they do have a whole dungeon of hoes down there dont they
I like the idea of a whiscash on the team too. It's certainly underappreciated and has a great defensive typing, bulk and access to earthquake. I wish he got more love than most people give him :(
Another Banger of an episode. The Flannery battle was great. For the gym battle against Norman, Slaking will be a big threat. However, I have a great strategy for this: When Slaking comes out, let it attack the first turn. During the second turn, make sure you already have Grovyle out or another Pokémon with dig. During the second turn, use dig and it will avoid Slaking’s attack next turn. Keep doing that until the Slaking is defeated. One thing is that you have to hope that the Pokémon with dig can survive the first turn. (Favorite Gym): I can’t decide on a favorite gym. However, I will list my favorite gym from each region: - Gen 1: Rock Gym (Basic but cool design) - Gen 2: Dragon Gym (I liked the design of it) - Gen 3: Water Gym (Liked the puzzle) - Gen 4: Steel Gym (The puzzle was an interesting concept with all the elevators) - Gen 5: N/A (Never played these games) - Gen 6: Electric Gym (I liked the quiz in this gym) - Gen 7: Fire Trial (I enjoyed the memory game and the questions that came with it) - Gen 8: Dragon Gym (I liked how players had to battle gun trainers that used different weather conditions in order to be able to battle Raihan) - Gen 9: Ice Gym (I was amazed by doing the snow slope run because it was a unique idea that Pokémon has never done before)
Hell yeah Costa! Dig is a broken strat against Norman for sure. I may or may not utilize that, I have to keep the hype of each gym battle strong yano. That's kind of this runs strongest characteristic at this point. And thanks for the opinion on the gyms! I agree with that one dude from earlier, you definitely need to play some gen 5 my guy! It's a top 3 generation for me. The story is GOATED
@@Dylxan327 I never played Gen 5 because I never had the console for it (Unless it’s new Nintendo 3DS). I’ve seen it on RU-vid before but otherwise, all I’ve done Gen 5 Related is Pixelmon and Gen 5 Showdown. I understand about the dig strat maybe not bringing hype during the gym battle. However, without a fighting type move on any Pokémon, it will be hard to win. Also, I’m wondering if you saw my comment about the discord server?
I'm really enjoying this series. I don't normally watch pokemon lets plays but the group dynamic here is really entertaining and your videos have helped keep me company during some difficult medical procedures this last month. Plus, the gym battles are really hype. You're doing a great job, keep it up :) P.S. You should totally use a whiscash on the team. Someone else in the comments said to nickname it Watergate I agree with them lol
Hey thanks for the comment! Means a lot when people claim that this series is giving them some peace through difficult times. It really gets me motivated to get more out. And okay I got watergate on the wheel again for the whiscash haha. Hope you're doing better!
Goddamn I wish I had found this series a few weeks after and then found you so that I could have all these episodes for me instead of waiting up. GREAT VIDEOS
Whiscash defenses are 73-Phy and 76-Special,Milotic's are 79-Phy and 125-Special.The only stats whiscash has that are higher than Milotic are phy attack and hp.But even then both those stats are only around 15 points higher.Milotic is superior even if it's annoying to evolve it's a better tank and has mostly higher stats being able to be both a tank and with 81 base speed it can be a sweeper like Sharpedo who's speed's only 14 points higher.
@@malumkishin8608 Yes but whiscash has a significantly better typing as well as earthquake by level up. Also he says he doesn’t want to use to many op Pokémon.
@@gg41451 fair however whiscash having has fairly terrible abilities while Milotic has better abilities. Also Milotic isn't so much overpowered and has only 10 more points in their stat total then starters.
I think Milotic would actually be a peak team member. It's unusual because of its rarity, and is super thicc. Plus, unlike Whiscash, it gets Recover instead of Rest. Super reliable mon, and very underrated. Love the content! :)
@@tristanhicks5372 The next few weeks are gonna be a little weird. I have 2 specials coming out over the next couple weeks, but then my brother is getting married in the beginning of september so I'm gonna miss a few days of video progress. But I'm aiming for one emerald episode a week for now, and then either a special or a showdown video once a week as well.
My favorite gym is definitely a hard question, but I really like the Norman fight. I've always felt like it's so much more fun when they have gym leaders with good pokemon that actually make you have to think. People fear Whitney's miltank, but I think Norman's slaking probably takes the cake for the scariest gym pokemon in any game if you're unprepared for it. I really like vigoroth personally as well.
Normal types are the coolest type IMO. I was honestly a little disappointed with the Norman fight. He could definitely have a better team. Like the slaking is a great ace but come on, a spinda, linoone, and a pre evolution of your ace? Lot of great normal types that could've been in there like zangoose or exploud.
i really like elisa white/black 2, the fact you have to go through the old gym before going to the new fasion show place is cool. also sharpedo rules, design wise and with dark stab
Yeah only gym you have to go through 2 of to get to the gym leader. And for sure sharpedo's stabs plus ice beam is crazy coverage for late game emerald.
What the hell when that magnitude went off early in the episode I said "well, bye Titan" literally at the exact same time Barak did I had to rewind that shit and do a double take. Got me laughing good
Episode 8 let's go! Favorite Gym is the gen 2 ice gym. Like Donald, I appreciated Wallace's too; I just love the sliding around bullshit. Excellent writing as usual. Loved the ending haha. Final vote is for Loan Shark the Sharpedo, fuck the bulk let's stay glass boys
For my favorite designed gym, honestly, it’s a super basic answer. However I’d have to say Nessa’s gym from Sword and Shield. It gives me water park vibes, and just thinking about what the water bill might look like for that place always makes me have a small chuckle. Plus, water parks are always super fun!
My favorite gym battle has to be the legendary Larry from the scarlet and violet games. It's not because of his typing, gym, or the battle itself. It's because he is my spirit animal. The essence of Larry speaks to my soul.
You know the presidents are really into the game just from how intense it becomes in the gym battle. Also as usual, I hope there's still time to vote for Pringles the Whiscash! Looking back, I didn't even know Whiscash would be getting support like this to be honest. I thought I'd be the only few ones lol.
Lol I've really built up the hype between whiscash and sharpedo. I'm glad people are really split on it because there will be a fun way to decide on it. And all the viewers will get a little shoutout. Hope you're looking forward to it.
definitely a good chance of happening. But it also depends on what other content creators are doing at the time of me needing to start a new series. So we'll just have to see. Between you and me I have some insider info on another big presidents play pokemon guy planning on doing HGSS next, so I'll probably just let him have that one to himself.
Nice battle! Can't wait for the special episodes. Secret bases and contests! Perhaps you could even go Legendary hunting and do a bit of the Battle Frontier. For the water type, Wiscash for sure, and last chance for Whiskers for the nickname. Sharpedo is just too frail, being a glass canon. And if Titan is getting the Earthquake TM, best to have another EQ user if Titan falls during battle, and Wiscash learns it via level up. I'm still trying to figure out George's Pokemon, and I think perhaps it might be a Psychic type, and the options that fit the best in terns of being underated are Grumpig and Chimecho. If it is Grumpig, name it Bbq, and if it's Chimecho, name it Venti. As for my favorite gym, ngl Gen 5 was choc full of good ones. The dragon gym's setup was definitely nice, as was the ice and flying one. The first gym was also a good tutorial and a good challenge since the elemental monkey you'd face was strong against your starter. X and Y, as mid as they were, had some pretty good ones too. Korrina's gym being a skate park was dope and I loved Anistar city's gym. That one is probably my favorite. For gen 3, Fortree and Sootopolis are definitely top tier.
Ay glad you liked the episode Tiger! Next couple episodes of this series are gonna be normal episode, then special, then normal, then special. So stay tuned. And I got you with those nicknames, more on the wheel for ya. Gen 5 did have a lot of banger gyms for sure. Fortree has one of the coolest cities IMO but I always felt like it could've played more into that with the gym. The gym seemed a little off to me.
It's funny seeing these videos also I like the steel gym in Sinnion by Byron. Also Whiscash is better type wise and defensive. But Sharpedo is better Offensive with it's dark typing
I guess my favourite gym is Crather Wake's gym from gen 4. I think it's water level gimmick is best and for some reason Crasher Wake feels really distinct from other Water specialists in the series.
True I think the series really took a step up from gen 3 to gen 4 in terms of their gym designs. I guess just the capabilities of the DS really outshined the GBA
Favorite gym is Morty's ghost shack. That was probably one of the first notable skill puzzles introduced. So many times as a kid falling off the path. Plus Ghost type is my 🔥
For my water type pick, I'd say to go through the extra steps for a Huntail if possible. I've never, EVER seen one be used before and I think it'd be pretty neat to remind everyone that it exists. Though Whiscash is pretty funny too tbh
problem with huntail in gorebyss is they aren't available until like the 8th gym and am I really gonna wait that long to get my water type? I really don't wanna do that tbh. Feels like wasted potential. Also yeah don't worry I got something fun planned for feebas haha.
Favorite gym is probably Giovanni. The twist is fantastic and hes decently challenging. Volkner is also a fun gym to battle. As for individual gym, i always thought the dragon gen 5 gym was sick.
True I did really like how they brought him back! Cool twist for sure. That being said, Idk about the challenging part. Why couldn't they just make that rhyhorn a rhydon!
team whiscach baby. my favorite gyn is no doubt elesa's from black and whte 2. the music the build up to that drmatic reveal and that walkway to her is just awesome.
Definitely a unique one. That fact that you have to go through an entire different gym first is uh...interesting...nonetheless. Definitely not frustrating.
QOTD: My favourite design for a gym in Pokemon was/is/and always will be Sootopollis City. I always loved the idea of a final gym leader being not a super imposing stature or powerful presence. Wallace being a contest star, which is just a superstar, is the ultimate ladies man by his presense alone. A mix between his natural-born charisma and all that was taught to him by his Teacher Juan in Emerald(coming out of retirement retaking his students place of power when his student "moves on" like a saucy ass Sarutobi). They both fill the same role in Hoenn but from 2 generations of ages. It gave 3rd gen a real world feel when I was playing Hoenn as a kid. It was like celebs were worshipped back them so that showing in the game in a gym with "crazy" fans under the ice you have to tread on carefully, that would attack on sight, which he kept out of sight completely was a nice touch in hindsight. Also the puzzle got me for years as a little kid and I just ended up battling all of the women and running thru it with a pen and paper😂😂
Pretty cool take on generation 3 and the gym Jason! Never really thought about it like that. To be honest, I was always a little disappointed with how Wallace took over as the champion for emerald. It never really made sense to me, but I guess since Steven decided to just leave and go search for rocks someone had to do it. Why do champions always just disappear into a mountain.
@@Dylxan327 I always thought only real champions leave the title because a real champion's hunger/drive is stronger than their duty, weirdly enough. Think about it; Red left because new pokemon and grinding is his, Steven left to find power in the earth and what power is forgotten there, Cynthia is constantly out of sinnoh trying to find both the creation lore and it's power, Alder travels his region to find his replacement as soon as possible in 1 while hinting that he is past his prime and wants to retire and teaches 2 chosen kids battle tactics in 2. I think those with the drive and mind to grind to the top of society and their field in a world with superpowered animals and constant gang violence, are those who'll use everything they have to make it happen. When they succeed they use the title champion for the next mission. I am always dissapointed with a champion like lance who jist wants to be champion for as long as possible, such a cool character to leave as the least cool of the 3 champions in kanto. Blue loses his title to Red and takes a gym and tries to learn from his mistakes and grow, Lance instantly becomes Champion after Red leaves. His is not a story of a man who wants to climb mountains, it is one who just wants to stand above all. Kinda poetic, the "best" of champions don't crave to be above others are the ones who either leave for mountains or live on mountains. Come to think of it unova and alola elite 4 are on a mountain and both are transitional champs who want to find the future of their region in the children. Lance, Diantha, Iris, and Leon fell off in that regard imo.
If I had to choose between Milotic, Sharpedo, or Whiscash, I would go with a choice between Milotic and Whiscash. Sharpedo is unfortunately victim to its STABs being Special in Gen 3, meaning it cannot use Crunch or Waterfall to their full potential. Taunt and Rough Skin are unique, but pathetic bulk and a shallow movepool makes it outclassed in my opinion. It also competes with teammates like Mango and Sky for the glass cannon archetype; Mango is much faster and physically stronger thanks to Guts and STAB Facade while Sky is stronger and faster on the Special side and has better coverage. Milotic is my first choice because it offers a very nice special tank to the team, which complements Titan as a physical tank. Milotic is stronger than Sharpedo (100SpA vs 95SpA); gets access to Recover for longevity; has Marvel Scale, which makes burn/poison a non-issue alongside Recover; and a decent movepool for a Water-type (Recover, Ice Beam, Surf, Toxic, Safeguard, Refresh are the best options). Not only that but I believe that it synergies well with Flygon, a Ground/Dragon-type that can attack well on any side and is immune to Electric and Ground moves thanks to Levitate. Whiscash is the other option I’d go with. Whiscash’s raw stats are overall lower than Milotic’s (except HP), but the Water/Ground typing is incredible, being only weak to Grass in a game where Grass moves aren’t very strong. Whiscash gets strong STAB options like Surf and Earthquake alongside decent mixed attacking stats; Rest for a full recovery that can be paired well with a Chesto Berry or Sleep Talk (Surf, Earthquake, Rest, Sleep Talk is the set I’d go with); or even Fissure for a cheesy OHKO against something that seems troublesome. Whiscash also pairs well with just about any other type combination as well- if you didn’t want Flygon as your Dragon, a very powerful one later down the line opens itself up to you (not Altaria, the other one, Joe). It’s definitely between Milotic and Whiscash if you ask me. But whatever direction is taken, the Presidents are sure to make it work. Godspeed, gentlemen. Edit: my nicknames for them would be Marina/Mariner for Milotic (depends on gender) and Wesker for Whiscash.
Alright preciate the analysis my guy! I agree sharpedo is hindered by the lack of the physical special split, but you gotta remember its spatk is still like 95! That's still really good in this gen before the huge power creep in gens 4 and 5. That being said, you make some great points throughout this whole thing! I got those nicknames on the wheels for ya. Thanks again for the comment my man!
Sharpedo is my vote! Also, my favorite gym leader has to be Clair from the Johto games. Despite her being kind of sore loser, she has a awesome design a pretty strong team. Also team puzzle too!
I think Mossdeep gym is my favourite. Vividly remember it being such a roadblock for 9 year old me that I restarted my entire Emerald playthrough. I'll always remember when I finally beat it with my Mightyena once I figured out Dark types were a good choice. Big achievement back in the day. Not to mention the design of the gym is neat and simple. It also has strangely memorable gym trainers like the ones with Wobbuffet and Girafarig. Oh and of course an unforgettable double battle for the badge. I think it's still the only double battle in any Pokemon game?
QOTD: Here me out guys. I’m down for Sharpedo, but I think Joe is right. The gang needs a bulky water type but Whiscash only has the HP but not the def to make the typing worth it. I’m thinking Tentacruel might be the better play long game.
Tentacruel is definitely one of the best water types in this game I agree. Available super early, plus you get sludge bomb for free after beating norman. I think it's only downside is the fact that's it a water type that can't switch into ground types, and a water type is going to be your best bet against those rock/ground pokemon. All that being said, this is a generation 3 pokemon only run! Just thought it would be fun that way.
@@Dylxan327 That’s a shame, Well then I’d say my second choice is Milotic. It’s a good bulky choice, plus it’s a great way to introduce the Contest grind at some point.
I know it might be hard to do, but I'm still on team feebas for the water type. I'm sure Joe wouldn't mind more off stream grinding lol (but whiscash > sharpedo)
For Donald: Whiskash doesn’t suck! They are adorable and at least they can grow hair! And Staches the Whiskash will be what the squad needs! And for my favorite gym, I wanna say my all time favorite is Roxie’s gym from black and white 2. Even though ghost type Pokémon are my all time favorite Pokémon, I love that she was a punk rocking playing Poison types because we didn’t get another poison type gym after fighting Koga’s daughter in gen 2. Also just googled it, Koga and Roxie are the only poison gyms in the span of 9 Gens O_O
"At least they can grow hair" made me laugh. I will add Staches for ya again Sean. Also big fax I gotta appreciate the punk rocker, Im a bit of an emo head myself.
@@Dylxan327 thank you and I am glad I could make you laugh. I was laughing when I typed it out. Also next episode we get to live every child’s dream: by kicking their dads ass!
Rock lobster, the Crawdaunt? Also, you guys should do a play through of Pokémon sword and shield after this, it would be great to see Trump getting all elitist about how bad it is, and Joe trying to put the little girl into 100 different miniskirts.
I think I'm pretty much set on gens 4 and 5, I think that's what my audience would appreciate most. It also just depends on what games my competitors in this niche are doing. So we'll just have to see down the line. I appreciate the input though!
@@Dylxan327 No problem, I just played a bit of it recently and forgot how many mini skirts there are you could put a 10 year old girl in, lol. your writing exceeds the other people that I’ve seen in this area anyway. Looking forward to see what you do next, on this series and others.
All I can say is that a tanky water type would be good but a water type with high attack and special attack would also be solid asf. I'm excited to see what you choose. I'm waiting for titan to evolve into an aggron. I would suggest using a flygon or salamence as your final team member dog.
Have you ever considered playing Pokémon Stadium 1 or 2 those game is absolutely disgusting in terms of difficulty especially if you're using rentals. I would live to see the presidents take on such a vile challenge xD
It could definitely be good! PS1 was pretty much my introduction to pokemon back when i was like 3 or 4 years old I think. Good memories. I would have them play it if I think I can maintain a good audience for it! We'll have to see down the line. Definitely possible.
I can only hope the president video I made can be even a quarter as good as these, you have some amazing collection of gems here! Keep growing and keep nailing the amazing content!
let's get it man just do your best! The first step is to just start making the videos. If you're serious about getting into youtube, I would check out the channel Grow Your Gaming Channel. I've watched a lot of their videos and it's helped me with my quick growth. I'll give you a shoutout down the line when you get some more stuff going.
@@Dylxan327 I might have to! Thanks for the tip, and I appreciate the shoutout, I’ll be sure to point them in the direction of your god tier channel as well!
I really hope you choose Milotic for the water spot, Marvel Scale is crazy good making Milotic a really bulky pokemon who can deal decent damage too. Plus it would be nice to see some beauty contest wins sprinkled throughout the episodes, mix things up a bit. Serenity is my choice for the nickname. Also I can't remember if you picked one up already in an earlier episode but a pickup Zigzagoon would be very useful while your party isn't full, it would fulfill the role of switch in fodder while also giving you plenty of useful items like potions, status condition healing items, escape ropes, etc and could double as an HM mon so you keep your main team from having basically useless moves; Oreo would be my nickname of choice for that pokemon.
True milotic is in my opinion the best water type in this game, right there with swampert. I've brought it to the battle frontier, and that's how you know it's top tier. And don't worry! Even if they don't decide on the milotic for the team, I have a fun idea for the feebas soon. I got Serenity down on that wheel for you. Stay tuned. And yeah I've thought about having zigzagoon/linoone for hm slave and fodder, but I ultimately decided I'm just gonna live with the crappy HMs. It's not a big deal, plus it gives a sense of generation 3 authenticity if you ask me. I appreciate the feedback though!
This was a good video 👍. I thought that Joe Biden was funny in this one. If I were to choose between whiscash and sharpedo I would choose sharpedo because I think that it has a cool design. My favorite gym puzzle was the ice gym from generation 4.
My favorite Gym Leader is the 4th Gym Leader of Johto, Morty. He’s an interesting character with an interesting style and has an interesting Pokémon type team and also that Morty knows Eusine. It’s also interesting that Ecruteak City (which has an interesting name) has the Burned Tower where Ethan, Morty and Eusine see The Legendary Beasts inside the Burned Tower and last of all Ethan Battling the Kimono. I just love Ecruteak City.
Lot of fun lore in ecruteak city. The burned tower and the resurrected eeveelutions into the legendary beasts, and a ghost gym leader right next to all that? Little creepy if you ask me.
Flygon named Shukaku and Sharpedo named Sharknado. If not Sharpedo, Whiscash is a good option because It naturally learns Earthquake at lvl 36, but i have no names for it.
QOTD:2 My favorite gym is the Castelia Gym in B2/W2. Aside from the uniqueness that is Gym theme music in B2/W2, Burgh’s gym has my favorite theme, puzzle and design. Especially for a Bug type gym I remember how hard Burgh’s team was in challenge mode with his Dwebble and Leavanny sweeping through most of my party members
Gen 5 had a lot of bangers for their gyms. They really embraced each individual character's personalities. Lenora's library, Roxie's underground rock club, elesa's runway stage, clay's mines, and so on. Preciate the comments man.
Amazing fight, and another great fuckin episode. Team Whiscash all day. Typing is amazing, has great HP, and solid stab moves with Earthquake Surf etc. Long live Goonch! Cant wait for the next showdown episode. Oh, and my favorite gym is always Koga gen 1. Im biased to Poison types, and I mean cmon...hes a ninja.
Let's go thanks man glad you liked it. Next showdown episode comin out pretty soon, already got the gameplay recorded. Just responding to these comments then banging out the commentary haha.
Barack was a fool, suggesting that Joe use Rock Smash against the Torkoal to potentially lower defence Because they’d just gone over how Torkoal had White Smoke and so it’s stats couldn’t be lowered like, maybe a minute ago Truly, Donald is the Pokémon Master of the group
Hey bro, evolve Titan for the Norman battle and you will wall his whole team. Lvl 31 Slaking has focus punch so use a move with 100% accuracy, first turn of focus punch always goes first so you dont need to be faster you just need to hit. Easy Peazy even Grovyle Can do it even faster, screech, Quick attack combo! Much love keep going!
Not giving up on Chucky the Banette joining this team as a switch in if even needed but definitely needs to be in this team. In Hoen its an AMAZING staple to your team compliments your team as well. Wishcash should be choosen over Sharpedo easily. Much sturdier tank compared to Sharpedo named Jaws.
as much as I would love a sharpedo on the team, we desperately need some bulk. whiscash it is, or if wailord is still an option then that one because its so fat my favorite gym is claire's from gen 2, specifically because i think going into dragons den after you beat her is really cool
