Yes, more Billlie!!! It's actually crazy stupid how talented the members are. And their variety shows are always absolutely entertaining. Let's hope they get more recognised in the future!
You can tell by the rest of the comments that billlie fans are eager for new people to discover how great they are, thanks for your reaction! I hope you can get more into them too
one thing about these girls is they will SING and PERFORM incredibly every time. just listen to NEVERTHELESS and you’ll immediately see what i mean with vocals
It brings me so much joy to see how people discovering Billlie 🤧 THEY'RE AMAZING, they're the group who got me into kpop in the first place and now they're my #1 ults, I love them so much Some of my favorite bsides that I REALLY recommend: the rumor, flipping a coin, my B birth of emotion, nevertheless, lion heart 🫶🩷
would love to see you react to some of their bsides ! some of my favorites are b’rave, mcguffins, and moon palace, but honestly all of their bsides are just amazing ! billlie is my ult so it makes me so happy to see people getting into them 😭
I know every fan will say this of their favorite group, but I'm a multi-stan, and I think Billlie is one of the strongest 4th gen girl groups when it comes to performance (including stage performance), vocals, dance, rapping, and live vocals.
Aghh not me coming across you watching my video!!! So glad you enjoyed and could get to know the girls, your pronunciation was spot on for everyone!! You were right, I made this a long time before Byob and Dang! hence why they weren't in the video XD If you ever wanted more billlie content to watch in your own time etc. I have other videos on them as a group and them as individuals, it will probs be hard to pick a bias but it might help haha
omg hi!!! your guide was amazing! thank you so much 🥺💗 i haven’t yet because i’ve been sick but it’s on my list to watch! i am hoping to get to it soon! 💗
I was literally just about to go to bed when I saw this drop. _Some things are more important._ 1:10 I've felt the same way since I properly fell into them. I had that same reluctance that I see in so many others, and I don't know what stopped _me,_ either. With the exception of GingaMingaYo, which I didn't warm to till later, I'd loved everything I'd heard from them. Sometime during Ring ma Bell era, I decided I liked enough that I bought all the digital versions of the albums, downloaded them, and put them on my phone to listen to on my trips to work. By the time I'd got to B'rave, I was *_IN,_* with no turning back. They instantly went from "I quite like them" to "Top 3, S-Tier, buying all their CDs and merch I can lay my hands on". And you're right, they are _so_ sweet; I promise you're gonna wind up _adoring_ them. 🥰 As coincidences go, we've literally just had maknae Haruna celebrate her 18th birthday on the 30th! 💙 2:45 It wasn't _originally_ owned by SM, but they bought a controlling share a few years ago. As I understand it, they're still functionally independent in terms of Yoon Jongshin and CEO Cho Youngchul being able to run things the way they want, but they have more money to do stuff than they would have if they hadn't sold out. (And that's fine, I'm pausing to type comments anyway... 😜) 5:05 It's also a very... anachronistic, storybook feel. I don't recall if it was specifically cited, but I think Georges Méliès' "A Trip to the Moon" (1902) was a big influence on the style. And yeah, snowy night is the one Christmas single I will jam to all year round (and have)! 5:55 Bang on. Last I looked, that fancam has about 1/3 the views of the official MV! For the record, they're _all_ doing the expressions, it's part of the choreo and concept... but Tsuki has _such_ a naturally animated face that she ramps everything up to 11(!😉)... 7:20 Patbingsu is cheesy as hell, and it knows and embraces that. Yoon Jongshin originally released the song in 2001, and here he reinterpreted it with Billlie, who again, absolutely embraced the silliness. 7:40 THIS SONG is the one I mentioned in the intro; when I first heard it, I _had_ to immediately go back and listen again. And I think possibly a third time. And it earwormed me for a _month;_ it gave me every opportunity to start hating it, and I _still_ absolutely love it. This video is also where Siyoon first established herself as my #1 Billlie bias and Eye Magnet™ (she naturally attracts my attention no matter what else is going on, she just has that kind of charisma... and often doesn't realise it)... 8:35 They _do_ have representative colours; they don't play a massive part, but they'll sometimes use things like coloured heart emojis to denote themselves; in at least a couple of dance videos, they even wear workout gear in their colours to help identify who's who! 10:30 _Hell_ yeah, Sua's good. 14:20 And this is where Sua and Suhyeon established themselves as my #2 & 3 biases (I'm still not sure which is which), and you absolutely should check it out. Sua originally had the idea for the rings and wanted to do them herself; the company told her "no, that's a _terrible_ idea. Take Suhyeon with you, she's good at making stuff..." 🤣 16:20 She's kinda like Yuqi in this regard; she can talk absolute _guff,_ but with such confidence and charisma that it _sounds_ like she's being profound... 😂 16:55 Got it! I don't know if you've tried learning hangeul, the Korean alphabet, yet, but if not, I'd really recommend it, even if you don't intend to learn the language itself. It's surprisingly quick and easy to learn the basics, and it's _phonetic,_ so once you've grasped it, you can read _anything_ in Korean (in particular in this case, people's names), and know exactly how it's pronounced. Romanisation (when it's converted into our alphabet) is so full of problems (there isn't a single standard, and there's often still confusion within a single system), but spending a few hours (it really is easy) to learn hangeul makes it all so much less ambiguous. 18:20 What indeed _is_ words? 19:00 _This is pre-debut._ 😳 25:20 Fun (and completely irrelevant) fact: Dreamcatcher debuted on Haram's 16th birthday! 27:05 This is one I referred to earlier, where they're all wearing their representative colours... 27:40 She really is a bit of a stunner... 😍 28:15 Back on the Dreamcatcher train, personality-wise she reminds me a lot of Handong: at first impression, you think she's going to be prim and proper, and probably pretty quiet... in reality, she's an unrepentant troll... 🤣 28:55 She absolutely _dotes_ on Haruna; she's her biggest simp by a wide margin. 38:10 When she sings, it's kinda nasal like when she's speaking, but there's also almost an extra ring to her voice. 42:40 Hey, it's Ostrich Logic! If she can't see the zombie, the zombie can't see her, it makes perfect sense! 46:00 Yeah, like I say, I think you're gonna wind up feeling that way about all of them... 46:20 No, that's pretty much it; the version in brackets are actually a pretty decent thumbnail guide to the pronunciations. 46:40 Yep, she was literally the _last_ contestant eliminated in GP999; if Kep1er had been a 10-member group instead of 9, she'd have been with them instead. Many of us feel that she kinda dodged a bullet by not winning, as she's a far better fit with Billlie. 48:40 She's also got a nice unique "throaty" tone. 49:45 SHE DOES NOT BREATHE 54:55 My bias, right here. 🥰 55:35 Yes, yes you are. They _nail_ it. And again, Siyoon is not just an incredible dancer, but also does it with such charisma! 56:50 I do believe you are correct. In fact, while Sua's on hiatus, Siyoon is their sole main rapper, though she does have Sheon as backup. 58:10 No, we did have one earlier when it was running through clips of their discography... 59:10 You speak the truth... 🥰 1:01:05 Note that Siyoon crying here, is right before she starts laughing at _Sheon_ for crying when she dropped the cake... 🤣 1:02:30 Most groups have their "Tom and Jerry". Well, with Billlie, it's Siyoon and Haram. 1:03:35 What the guide doesn't mention is that Siyoon is also really introspective and empathetic. She'll often make posts on Weverse or Bubble, telling Belllie've to look after themselves, or make a song or food recommendation, and often replying to fans' posts as well. 1:03:50 Pretty much as you'd expect pronunciation-wise; the emphasis usually goes on the first syllable (HA-ru-na), but they're all the same length. 1:05:55 She is often sleepy, and often hungry. While she's the only member without a main or lead position, I often think of Runa as the unofficial official centre... Another video that's great to get to understand them as people a bit more, is the "side-B Chat". It was filmed just before they released BYOB, and has the five currently active members going out for a meal to unwind and chat about the preparations for the BYOB/DANG! comeback. It's a really frank and heartwarming discussion where they talk about how they had to adjust to operating as a five-piece group, Haram's initial trepidation at taking on the unnie/not-leader role normally held by Sua (till she realised everyone was so skilled and professional she didn't really _need_ to lead them, just support and encourage them). And refreshingly, they actually talk _about_ Sua and Suhyeon, and how they must be feeling to be missing out... and at one point Sheon actually looks straight at one of the cameras to address their unnies directly, in a beautiful "If you're watching this..." moment. It's only about 15 minutes, and it's _well_ worth your time. 🥰
