A highway no GPS will tell you about. Alkmaar to Assendelft/Zaandam (N244) 

For some odd reason no GPS navigation will show you the highway between Alkmaar and Assendelft. You're supposed to take the A9 and from Uitgeest follow the N8. A narrow stretch of highway laden with traffic light and busy intersections.
Locals know better; take the N244.
Join us heading south from Alkmaar to Assendelft and enjoy the views on the dikes of the Alkmaardermeer.
