Bourton-on-the-Water is a village in the rural Cotswolds area of south central England. Straddling the River Windrush, it’s known for its low bridges and traditional stone houses. The Cotswold Motoring Museum features vintage cars and a toy collection. Birdland is home to species including parrots, owls and king penguins, plus life-size model dinosaurs. The Model Village is a 1930s scale replica of the village.

I went there with some people from my first boarding school (Cotswold Chine in Box, near Minchinhampton) - took me a while to realise (as I had only seen the main street) that the model village was a miniature version of Bourton-on-the-Water - they even constructed a smaller version of the model village in the model village itself, which fascinated my ten-year-old mind at the time (I am nearly 57 now, as I type this!).

An absolutely beautiful, idyllic place i fell in love when i visited here as a child and that was reaffirmed when i visited again this year 2018. I was born and bred in Banbury so not too far away but i am currently living in America and have dreams of living there directly on the water but im afraid that will remain a dream but i can still visit. Thank you for posting this i thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you so much for this lovely video, you've done a great job. I have a question which I hope you can help with. My wife and I shall be there from October 3rd to 7th, 2022 staying at the Sunny Nest B&B. What I would like to know, which are the best restaurants or pub restaurants to have an evening meal with LIVE MUSIC playing as we eat. This would be the evenings of Oct 3rd-6th. I always find that this would be such useful information on these videos. What can you recommend please? Thank you.
