Man I came back to the game like a week ago and seeing a robin alt absolutely wrecking everyone made me very happy I'm currently trying to build the bridal alt too, will see how it will work out

Would recommend eventually upgrading to an arcane weapon for an upgrade to combat ability and arena scoring. Would recommend Flared sparrow or Atk/Spd clash for a premium A skill. For B skill, Flow desperation or Desperation 4, or flow refresh 4. C slot could be an Alarm skill.

I’m glad there’s other people who don’t consider Grima as a Robin alt. Poor F!Robin’s been getting the short end of the stick with her Legendary AND Re-Armed spot being taken by Grima.

And then he got a better refine! He’s still great today.

@@alexpowell1184 yeah he did get a good refine, better than ayras due to better DR, I actually ran the numbers and he is able to beat Ayra with refine, talk about from zero to hero, tho I do prefer Ayra only cause she been my go to unit since she came out.

@@samkeiser9776 naaah Mathilda was op. Her base stat and growth rates were amazing benching her husband instantly. With the effective against armor and cav lance I could still drop her in the Middle of the map on classic/hard mode and she would shred any foes trying to attack her

@@samkeiser9776 and while warp was broken it was the only good thing silque had. In heroes she became à tank with the best healer staff in the game. Wich is still an incredible effect to have resteting specials and inflicting guard négates many speed tank strategies

@@aqualacerta3961 Mathilda isn’t much better than Clive, she’s arguably actually worse, granted that you know what you’re doing. I think what people will recommend is saving the early fountain uses until you get him, promoting him asap, and then giving him two spd fountain uses after putting him at 10 then you give him the horseslayer and he does super well vs the millions of horses on Alm’s side. (Either because he doesn’t get doubled anymore, or because he starts doubling I don’t remember.) The biggest advantage Mathilda has over Clive are her spd and res, but doing the promotion+fountain strat puts her at only 2 more speed than him, and the reason you’d do it is because he has high movement and can use lances, and your other units aren’t, unless you made a villager a cav. Clive’s availability helps him out a lot too, if he promotes to Paladin asap, he’ll be higher level as a Paladin than base Mathilda when she joins, which means he’ll be closer to gold knight, even if his growths are worse, gold knight bases are really good, he can just promote and rise to that class’s bases. He only falls off in the late game. Mathilda is by no means bad, she’s just not as impressive as Clive if you give clive the chance. His availability really does everything for him. Meanwhile, Silque is one of 2 units in the entire game that learns warp, and the only warper with good availability. It’s not like everything else she has is bad either, nosferatu isn’t great but lifesteal is still good, even with bad accuracy, heal is useful, and her invoke summons dread fighters, though also, having warp is still enough to make her one of the best units in the game by default, it really is just that good. Even in SoV where everymap is route.

@@samkeiser9776 you just described rather heavy investment on Clive just to make him a 2 less speed and worse growth cav. His only real advantage is you get him faster. But if you don't put heavy investment in him Mathilda will be better on recruit. And those fontains can be used by other characters or even Mathilda. If instead of saving all those ressources for Clive you put them into other characters you get an overall better army and if you put them into mathilda you'll get a better cav. Clive have nothing impressive. He's not bad, just outclassed. He's a good early game cav

His lore is him sitting on a mountain of dead bodies as kid when Nergal found him. Most of these dagger users shouldn't be holding a candle to him.

What's ironic is that they're not even really "unpopular" or anything I'd say although I've seen many people saying so lately. I think it's just to hate on them as more of a bandwagon opinion honestly on ig characters that aren't their faves who aren't in the game getting traction (whereas characters like Mustafa, and other early Gen units will just rarely talked about overall or forgotten, with many not placing well as a result of already being in now if they placed highly to begin with that is). Edward has consistently placed in the top 50 characters not in for many CYLs being like top 15 and top 10 (only under TMS and Lucia iirc) for the last two while a significant portion of characters outside of that are added. Leonardo even outplaced Geoffrey, the other members heavily outplaced Bastian, and Micaiah won a CYL as a potential in for an Elincia situation. Doesn't mean any of those characters are unpopular but I think they just get selective hate since RD forefront popularity comes down to either being a "great" unit or a waifu really imo (if you're not a lord) like most older games I'd say with some exceptions here and there

I think they could've been many times by now and was expecting them late this year, but tellius got skipped a year and Radiant Dawn didn't get a banner in like over 4 years since 2019. Radiant Dawn exclusives in general get treated so poorly imo (even the leads like Micaiah, Sothe, and particularly Pelleas who is like the Lyon of Radiant Dawn I'd argue not getting in the game til like 2021 or something and being basically the only prfless GHB of CYL ones) I think they couldve definitely added many of the Dawn Brigade members with Micaiah/Sothe/Jill/Ilyana/Nailah/Pelleas (who had cracked the top 100 overall with I think even 3H's debut and lords/most popular characters competing), /etc. (Also checking CYL I Edward is ranked 89th in the top 100 which is really good!) With Engage getting added it might be a bit bumpy for him but considering how high he's placing, other characters getting added and getting alts, etc I doubt it if not him likely placing slightly higher

The Radiant Dawn and tellius normal pool is so barren as it is imo If they give some of them premium treatment in the future I think that'd be cool too since Edward could have Caladbolg, and Leonardo/Nolan could have Lughnasadh/Tarvos. I think it could honestly sell decently if they actually invest into the new heroes They'd end up having 760+ BST which would be really nice and many of them could be a nice demote project like Aran since there are so few lance infantry options available. If they did an Attuned Edward with Attuned wrath and a premium kit with Caladbolg I'd honestly be really excited to see that. I doubt Cain/Abel archetypes are allowed though but it'd be really cool with like maybe an ascended Micaiah on the banner to me at least.

She got BLOODIED in Heroes lol. On the topic of Gaiden/Echoes ladies, there's Tatiana and Faye too. One was known for amazing healing but was introduced as a mediocre blue mage with no healing abilities, while the latter was a healer with a dance spell but got in as an archer... Which was genderlocked to men in those games for whatever reason.

Subpar is fitting for a magic build Sylvain tbh. As for the axe... If THAT'S flanderization... At least he can use axes. Faye somehow got two versions in the game, somehow both as bow users when it's like, the one weapon type she can't ever use in the entirety of Echoes.

It feels like he was meant to release years ago, his summer alt has more spd then him and they both had the same starting spd but because of flowers summer Sylvain got more 😢

@@Marshmallow-bl2ps No, it's just that units don't keep the exact same stats spread with every alt (well, unless you're Micaiah or Lilina I guess) otherwise it'd get boring. Case in point : Camilla's alts. She has a lot of them, and yet they all have very different stats (talking comparatively for their release dates : OG had no clear weaknesses but also no clear strengths being very balanced, Bunny had high Atk/Def and low Spd/Res, NY had high Spd/Def, okay Atk and low Res, Summer had high Spd, okay Atk and low Def/Res, Adrift had high Atk/Res, middling Spd and low Def, HS had high Spd, decent Res and low Atk/Def, Brave had high Atk/Spd and low Def/Res, and Ninja had high Def/Res, decent Atk and low Spd). Tl;Dr : Sylvain being slow doesn't mean that he was meant to be released before his actual release date, it just means he's slow.

Crusaders Ward was less of a Reinhardt Counter like people say it was supposed to be and more of a way to ensure that he didnt get blown up by the easily accessible demote unit so that he could be the tank that he was. I loved using him back then and even now I still have crusaders ward on mine for when I bring him out for auto battles

That's actually the problem for F!Robin, all her alts are old with terrible stat spreads (Grail Robin and Summer Robin) or unit types (with Valentine's Robin). Basically she has huge demand for her character and IS isn't proving, heck even in Engage and Amiilo she was absent and just a skin in Warriors and Smash. She's kinda their "dirty redhead stepchild" that they kinda pretend doesn't exist these days unless they can sex her up... usually with Grima wearing her as a meat suit. I digress again though. Basically she's just a passion project to build but not a viable character in today's meta. All the other my units have better alts than Female Robin. Yet she has a huge fanbase that consistently keeps her in CYL top ten for 5 years, so they know she has big demand that they're not going after.

My Oboro was my first summon, day one! She is +10, have all possible shenigans and a arcane lance - not my best unit, but she is great now! And yes, I don't even remember what the original weapon refine does lol

Rearmed Henry should be an Axe unit since for some reason he can reclass to barbarian. That or a dagger because theif. Anyway, yeah I liked Henry in Awakening, but he's practically useless in Heroes.

While I do agree with early Leo's. Spring Leo really is the redemption Leo. Combine him with GK and he is among one of the better hit and run units in the game for AR. If you have flared sparrow you can double down on his anti-movement also. This Leo is pretty goated.

Karel is only a good unit in Binding Blade, as the Sword Saint. The one in Heroes is the version of him from Blazing Sword, the Sword Demon. In Binding Blade, he's great. In Blazing Sword, well... he has a Wo Dao? He's mediocre at best and gets easily outclassed by Guy and Lyn. Better to go for Harken. So his Heroes incarnation quickly falling off kinda makes sense. Now if Sword Saint Karel isn't one of the best units in Heroes when he eventually gets added, then you can riot.

wasnt' her refine one of the super early ones? iirc most of those are pretty basic and underwhelming compared to the stuff they have for refines nowadays lol I still like it for the effect requirement, cute reference to her guards; hopefully her legendary happens before book 10

I _just_ finished +10ing Lindhardt (he's my sibling's favorite character). He's oddly tanky? Boon in Def and ascended Res, 37 45 respectively. Its weird. Here's hoping when we get his Timeskip, he'll be cool. Or at the very least usable.

I remember in my original file getting near the start of the game and getting a 5-star Camilla and having her tink enemies with her brave axe.

@@samkeiser9776 I'm guessing you're talking about FEH, in which case yeah she was done dirty. In my comment I was just bouncing off the statement that in Fates she needed reclassement to become a powerhouse, which I don't think is the case. It can definitely help her, especially if you leave her in Sorcerer or Witch for a bit, but you can also never reclass her and she'll still be your best unit. Because of RNG just like everyone else she's not immune to stat screwage, but even if she only gets bad level ups her bases will carry her a long way.
