I just started to reimagine orcs for my own world... And Inever heard about japanese pig orcs, I thought that my pig idea was more niche 😅 I gave them.also horns and elephant skin, so maybe it will even it out!
Maybe it is simply because of just how oversaturated it can feel regarding orcs, but orcs just feel played out. Yes, I know this is by no means true, and there are always new ways to create and/or utilize them (see Gaijin Goomba's new GimGam Glitzdakka and his line of Japanese-inspired 40K Orks), but still, to me at least, they sometimes get too much attention. Because of this, for my own fantasy story writing, I pretty much left them out of it. Now, I have been going back and seeing if I should add them anyway, but if I do add them, I want to avoid any of the overused tropes about them while also doing my best to avoid just diving into the... let's just say, other less-than-family-friendly activities associated with them. I highly doubt I will come up with anything particularly noteworthy about any possible orcs for me, but hey, might as well try.
I mean, I have neither of the Tolkinesque triad of races in my own setting for pretty much similar reasons, but I still like all of them for what they are and for the variations they have brought.
