A HST power Car Top n Tailed With a Class 66! | Midland Railway Butterley, Ale on The Rails 20/7/24 

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July 2024, Midland Railway Butterley were hosting their Ale on The Rails event. The event would see two trains with 4 locomotives in action during the weekend. One of 125 Group's HST Power Cars no. 43025 was in service along with Class 66 66654 from DB Cargo, 43025 and 66654 were operating on a train of Mk3s and a Mk1 in top n tail formation, a sight you don't see very often. Resident BR Class 44 Peak no. 44004 'Great Gable' was also in service along with the railways flagship LMS 3F Jinty 16440, 16440 and 44004 were operating on solo trips throughout the two days apart from top n tailing on the second train of the day and top n tailing to Riddings due to the run round being out of action for the moment.
The day was spent at Butterley and Swanwick, the weather wasn't too bad either and overall this was a good day out.
