The thing with Top Gun, one of the longest running jokes in his series is that he's never been able to land on the carrier, he always crashes. So he wasnt even trying with the power glove but it actually landed for the first time ever. Thats why he looked at it in shock.
Just to demonstrate how irrelevant this product is. I could not find anyone beating dark souls with this. I could find someone beating dark souls with bananas. Yes, you read that right. It exists.
AVGN is freaking hilarious. James Rolfe is an awesome guy. He's like Angry Joe where his stuff got much better over time and is still good. Also, Regular Show parodied the Power Glove in the episode "Video Game Wizards" but it was called the Maximum Glove but it was basically the Power Glove with a different name.
“They didn’t think this through at all.” Yeah, that sums up the power glove in a nutshell. Honestly, I’m surprised it was actually made and not just left as a weird prototype or idea someone came up with as a joke.
"He must have a very expansive video game collection" Oh boy, if you only knew. He has videos posting his various collections. This is back in his old Nerd room before he got married. Now all his games and consoles are in a location separate from his new house. I recommend his various collection videos.
PLAY PUNCH OUT WII. It’s the perfect mixture of envelope pushing, great fight structures, great personality, and absolutely stunning animation. Glass Joe is the French guy who can’t fight for shit. That is what I mean by envelope pushing. It’s a WEE bit racist at times but they’re very clever about it to avoid stepping on toes.
Keep in mind this is for the NES... which only had a D-Pad and two buttons for inputs to begin with. And they still couldn't make this thing work reliably.
This is a Good Review and I would love to see both Nostalgia Critic and AVGN Videos in this Channel if Possible,in all Honesty I didn't know that the Power Glove Existed until I Watch Smosh Teleporting Fat Guy but watching this Classic is Fun.
If you enjoyed this, I definitely recommend the NES Accessories video next. He also did one on Super Mario Bros. 3 and the Wizard, although that version of the video has since been replaced on his channel.
I had a power glove... and lost the codes 10 years before getting the internet... So it became a painful glove to punch siblings with. Probably why I remember it more fondly than most
Some AVGN episodes that I'd recommend you watch: Friday the 13th Nightmare on Elm Street Ghostbusters (3 parts) Bugs Bunny's Birthday Blowout (the first AVGN video I watched) The Wizard of Oz Superman Games (2 parts) Batman Games (2 parts) Phillips CDi (3 parts) Michael Jackson's Moonwalker Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle Godzilla Castlevania Retrospective (4 parts) Street Fighter 2010 Ninja Gaiden Lester the Unlikely Star Wars Games Spielberg Games Ghosts 'n Goblins AVGN Games Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing! Desert Bus Hong Kong '97 Seaman Bad Game Cover Art (25 parts) Power Rangers Games Game Boy Accessories Earthbound Resident Evil Survivor The Town With No Name Home Alone Games Pepsiman
As an owner of the original Power Glove, it DOES work if you calibrate it and know how to use it. The programming codes change the controls for each game, or you can select a program that you feel works best for certain games. That being said, using a controller is still much easier. some examples of controls: bend thumb for A button, bend index finger for B button, bend last 3 fingers for another action (usually game dependent) ,moving glove left/right/up/down is the dpad. for driving games you control left and right like a steering wheel.
Duck: "he must have a very expansive gaming collection." Me: well NOW he does, when he was starting off he had his friends' games, most notably his long time CO-Star Mike Matei, you'll see him in episodes as he dresses up as multiple characters.
Dude, I'd definitely recommend checking out more from the Nerd! Particularly some of his more recent episodes from the past few years, that's got some great content to see
This is now the first AVGN video that you seen, and let me tell you, *you’re in for a show.* Also you like Rolling Rock? *then you’re gonna love AVGN...*
Oh Boy, I'm so excited that you're watching AVGN. I literally grew up with it. If you'll not watch in order, please watch the GameBoy accessories, it is one of the best video game related videos on youtube, imo.
He has his video games since then. Most of them he bought and collected, but other than that he’s one of the oldest internet critics out there. He’s been doing this since 2004. Before RU-vid even existed back then. If it wasn’t for him nostalgia critic wouldn’t existed.
oh boy, you've stumbled into a very large Rabbit Hole as AVGN (James) has been at this a very long time, telling jokes about bad and frustrating things in video games, and it'll be a hoot to show you all the best ones.
7:03 Bubble Bobble! (Bubble Bobble!) Why did I try? (Why did I try?) There’s Bub and Bob. (There’s Bub and Bob.) But who am I? (But who am I?) There’s only bubbles for me now Must end this, but how?
Yes your reacting to angry videogame nerd love for you for it also here's a playlist of his series in order I would recommend looking at this playlist so you can see all episodes in order ru-vid.com/group/PLVZPQCbMOFuvfLh_pcgSvY5IVvEcyQ2KE
I know it's late comment for this, but seeing that memorial day's coming up, could I recommend NC's review on Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor? If you rant to see Doug angry, I don’t mean NC, I mean real character breakong red face anger there's no better video. That anger is justified as his father severed in the Navy and felt insulted by films depictions of Naval officers.
Ironically, there might be a game for this. Reformat it and rework it, and I can totally see this working for Helldivers 2 VR. That is, IF Arrowhead is sadistic enough for a VR version of Insect Iraqi Freedom and Robot Vietnam.
To see the Power Glove used to its full potential, watch Kung Fury. I think you could find it on RU-vid, and you could probably get away with making a reaction to it but it's a full movie so that would either be long or done in two or three parts.
hey Kyle, just to get you an idea on how vast his collection is, he has video games and consoles that you've never heard of, and he has (almost) all of the games for the various consoles. his oldest console that he has goes back to the 60's. :) he also has several branch power chords, you know, the things where you insert the power, and each one is for different game console.
I would really recommend the Metroid series! The first two games are really dated, but they’ve got remakes. Unfortunately there’s no one console to play them all on, not legally anyway…
@@theduckgoesmoorewatching some vids, never noticed you replied to my comment. Anyways apparently he beat nick bruiser, the final boss in super punch out. It was an accident, apparently as he also has the fastsest beat record. Also, instead of glass joe (gj) you fight gabby j (gj) in super punch out, who has the same w/l ratio. His one win was in his graduation fight at the boxing school he went to, where he fought the teacher/ head of the school. That being glass joe!
Oh man, now that you've watched some AVGN, you should totally watch the Nostalgia critic VS AVGN feud. It was a series of videos they each made, eventually culminating in the two characters meeting and battling. I found a video that compiled all of then together and it's about 45 minutes long. You could watch it all in one go or split it in two. But either way, you should totally check it out. Here is the compilation. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a4F29kPldLQ.html
I don't know if anyone has suggested it yet, but you should try out joshscorcher(a.k.a. the fiery joker)'s content. He does a lot of countdown lists. Right now, he's doing a Sonic the Hedgehog content month, but my personal favorites of his videos are his top 10 (insert video game company's name here) fails, its sequel series, for the top 10 video game related fails of a year, and the top 15 worst consoles.
To see the Power Glove used to its full potential, watch Kung Fury. I think you could find it on RU-vid, and you could probably get away with making a reaction to it but it's a full movie so that would either be long or done in two or three parts. An easier reaction would probably be to watch Kung Fury in your own time then react to True Survivor by David Hasselhoff with a short review for Kung Fury. But it's your channel.
Personally..I say if you want to watch his BEST episode...Go watch his Earthbound review...Now if you're familiar with the game, do not worry, he claims it's a good game and one of the recommended SNES classics...It's just really fun to watch him nerd the hell out of himself in that episode
You know what gets me about you? You have this ability to talk and listen at the same time. I used to get a bit upset because you NEVER pause, and while some reactors are excessive about it, I be like "but you're missing critical information!" but apparently not. I guess this is what it feels like when people look at me funny when I say I can pay attention to the show and read subtitles at the same time... I definitely can't have a conversation and watch TV at the same time tho.
To answer your questions for Mike Tyson's Punch Out: Yes that was Mario. I think Glass Joe is the weakest of the fighters in the game. You should watch some of his you know what's BS videos. For Nostalgia Critic, you should watch Batman Vs. Superman.
i still love how many games i never heard of because im european and consoles. then again i had my share of shitty and good games. one of my favourite is still the clock tower series when i grew up as a kid. my friend got me the japanese snes game and it was SCARY as shit. because barely anything was scripted.
Dude, you should check out the AVGN "Toxic Crusader" review. I shit you not, he got the actual director of the Toxic Avenger movie to come on his show and review the games with him!
Nintendo is always ahead of their time, the power glove is the older sibling of the wii mote and the virtual boy eventually made it to the 3ds. Future stuff always has a test drive that sucks total aaaassssss.
Day 326 of asking for game theorists FNAF You started the Legacy of the Nerd now. Now I'd suggest to watch... Technically 2 videos in one reaction but that's because the first one is like 5-8 minutes. His Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde review, his first one which was his second ever episode, and than the revisited review where he actually makes it more of an actually gameplay and review like he usually does. I ask this because this is infamous for being his most hated game and is kind of known to be that. So uh, add this to suggestions.
If your trying to watch season 7 of sonic for hire lowbrow put up 2 months ago sonic for hire the saga so far it has all 8 seasons in one video you could skip to where season 7 begins if you need to.
