Super video lesson. If you used oil based inks did you wait for the first print layer to dry before printing the collagraph plate or did you apply it wet. Many thanks.

@@chrisriddles9460 thank you 🙏 I didn’t wait to dry, I applied subsequent layers wet

Hi Marta, I am brandnew with printmaking and have to learn all from scratch and just found your video's on youtube. I realy like the way you're printmaking with different techniques, and the results are amazing. I am very interested in the tool your using for making your designs from photographs. Is it possible to let me know the name of the program or app? Thanks a lot. Petra

Hello Petra, really glad you are finding the videos useful. I use Procreate on my iPad with a stylus pen. Hope this helps and happy printing 👋

Just a question on terminology. Why is this classed as a collograph plate? Lovely print and I like the one with the brighter strip running through best. It's like the clouds have made way for the sun. Bx

Hi there! Good question. Technically it is a collagraph albeit a hybrid of all sorts of techniques, so difficult to give it a name

@@CollagraphPrinting Interesting. I thought this to be more drypoint as you scratch the surface and didnt stick any cardboard on the surface....Ill have to do more research into this....Hapyy New Year Bx

@@bixnash1 it’s a mixture, the collagraph part was painting different media on top of the plate to trap more ink. Happy New Year and happy printing 🤗

Hi Marta, I’ve just found your wonderful videos. Like you, I really enjoy experimenting with printmaking but would really like to know the names of some of the products that you use. I’ve been using mountboard to make collographs, but I think you are using something called inveroboard? Could you clarify the name? Could you also tell me the name of the varnishes and additives that you use? For example Liquitex gloss medium varnish, viscosity ink, thickeners? And any other products you love. I’ve been using plexiglass to do drypoint, hadn’t thought about using is for collographs. Thanks so much.

Hi Kay, thank you for tuning in. The card I use for making collagraphs is called enviroboard which I buy from an online store in UK called handprinted. For varnish I use shellac by Robertson’s that I bought from Jackson’s Art online store. To make inks more viscous I use refined linseed oil. I use magnesium carbonate as a thickener. Hope this helps 🤗
