Aces have 4 superstars but no depth. Kate gives them some depth. Once Chelsea is back, and Jackie is healthy, Matin will have less time but still be so key of the bench.

Cameron Brink is already a defensive powerhouse, and her three point shot is ahead of schedule in terms of how efficient it is. Plus, Rickea Jackson has quickly shown she needs to be a big part of the rotation with her three level scoring and size on the perimeter. They're young, and they have a losing record for a reason. They're going to be very good in a few years, but when the Aces are healthy, they rip basically every team in the league in half.

@@rosby I don't know if it's jealousy. I can sense frustration though. I really think it was going to happen with the first NIL athlete, no matter who it was. It's so weird that someone comes in from college is making more money than these professional athletes and has such a large fan base. You have to sense the changing tide for them. I'm trying to give these veteran some grace about that. My current sense is that Wilson is by far the best player in the world. I think Clark is on her way there, but it will take a few years.

I don't think Kate would continue to call CC her best friend if Kate had to do everything for CC. In fact, Kate was not going to return to Iowa basketball this past season, but CC talked her into it. If Martin had not come back, she wouldn't be playing in the W now. She will be forever grateful to CC for that.

I have always appreciated Kate's playing!!! She was not in CC's shadow at Iowa. They had different roles.

Did you watch her at Iowa or even now? Kate Martin was never a role player in college. She was pretty good and I’m glad Vegas saw it. Iowa’s entire offense ran through Clark to the detriment of the team. People make a big deal about Clark but a team consists of more than one player and without that squad Iowa goes nowhere. So technically you are correct; Kate did not exactly say that A'ja is the best player she's ever been around. But since A'ja has been around Kate, the only implication is that Kate believes that A'ja is the best player she's ever been around. So knock it off with the apologist crap: Kate is updating her viewpoint because she is following her trail of money. Kate's current income depends more upon A'ja than it does Caitlin, so Kate is updating her viewpoint to protect that new income.

Gray hasn't played a minute, and Jackie's health just contributed to two of those losses. When the season is over the Aces will be towards the top and the Fever towards the bottom. Kate and Caitlin are the best of friends. Kate, like Caitlin, has learned how to talk to the media. That includes praising her teammates. I’m sure Kate and Caitlin have their disagreements, but don’t read too much into one sentence at a postgame press conference.
