As a guitarist myself, just watching this alone brought such peace. The sheer dedication and love placed into this instrument is astonishing, and also echos how you and your family live. Simply beautiful. Thank you for this wonderful video.
The Japanese seem to have patience and dedication that is not of this modern world. The woodworking and metal working is a joy to watch and as an amateur guitarist and woodworker, it is mesmerising. This type of work is somewhat under appreciated and I hope you can sustain you and your family from this wonderful art.
That's why the East is so on the rise. We Westerners cram everything into 1 life. They don't, if it's not good, we do everything better in the next life, so less stress. In any case, they don't deal with it as spasmodically as in the West.
I believe the Japanese to be the finest wood workers on this planet. I lived in Japan, Kyoto for about 4 - 5 years and during this time I never lost my wonderment and joy in looking at the fine woodwork of Japanese architecture and interior design. Absolutely love this side of Japanese culture. Thank you.
In the end, everything is Zen. I realize that more and more often at the age of 77. Beautiful guitar. Your soul is in the guitar. That's why it sounds so beautiful.
Mr Hayase’s wish has been granted. This luthier in Ontario Canada is Smiling at his incredibly high level skill. A pleasure to watch and see the methods we both use and the ones that slightly differ. I have a feeling that if knew each other we could be friends. Best wishes with much respect!
I spent hours and hours in Antonio Marin Montero's workshop to observe the whole process. He is a humble and very open-minded person despite being one of the best guitar makers in the world. Watching this video I found myself in the same type of atmosphere as in Granada. Same refined craftsmanship, same patience, respect for time and care. REALLY A GREAT JOB. I am a classical guitarist but I appreciated your work with sincerity. Very well done. And I, like Antonio, share the same philosophy as yours. Life is precious, family and children are precious and working properly is precious too. All my sympathy goes to you, Mr. Rin Hayase san
Wonderful craftmanship. I am a metalworker and served a four year apprenticeship. I was taught that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing well, and you do it very well.
This is the second time I watched Hayase build a guitar and I have the same exact feeling when I discovered him here months ago. I dream of having his life, the workspace, the life. Maybe one day! I fix guitar for side income and I love doing it. Seeing the man carefully does those little things meticulously really resonates me because I want to challenge myself to be better than last time. Wonderful video! Thank you!!
As a guitar player and retired cabinetmaker I have such great admiration for your dedication, skill and values. Thankyou for sharing the intricate and fascinating process of making such a beautiful musical instrument. God bless you and your family.
Hayase Sama, I wish you and your beautiful family all the best that life can bring. If I'll be fortunate enough to visit your country someday it would be a privilege for me to come meet you! Sayonara.
looks like a guitar that will last generations and would age and sound better with time. true craftsmanship and it's wonderful to see this in an age where everything is automated.
I just watched this artist from the beginning to the very end make this acoustic guitar, and it was so amazing… I pray that others, see this and look into his website and buy his beautiful guitars!
Thank you for your dedication Mr. Hayase. Your spiritual calmness has brought a little peace in my life. As an amateur guitar builder, I find your skills very inspiring
I was surprised, how late the bridge was attached. The spacing of the frets has to be (almost) mathematically determined and the distance to the bridge exactly right. The workshop is well equipped. It would be interesting to know how Mr. Hayase learnt to make guitars and how he built up his stock of unique tools. As many have commented, a beautiful and very personal film.
The precision and craftsmanship is unbelievable. I'm sure many people can comprehend the degree of difficulty it is to be a builder of this caliber. But, I think there are many more people who don't have an appreciation for a skill level like this. I have a couple of guitars. But, I can't afford one hand made like this. Maybe one day. Such a great video, and a great Luthier.
What incredible attention to detail. Such a beautiful instrument made by the hands of a true craftsman and master of his trade. From America with love.
I own a fortyfive year old Yamaha. I have been a musician for around fortysix years, that acoustic guitar has been nothing less than outstanding in that time. Admiring your wonderful craftsmanship.
This the best guitar build I've watched in youtube. Not only the incredible Luthier, but the entire video production, it brings so much peace and admiration. But yeah, what a master this man, not many people can do work like this. Japan, always Japan. Great job!
Beautiful guitar and craftsmanship. I had to stop playing several years ago due to a hand injury. That sound brings back fond memories, even the scrapping sound of a re-string. Thank you for sharing.
Its nice to see a true craftsmen at work. An honor and a privilege, my friend. Inside your guitar, is as beautiful and clean as the outside. You take much care in keeping it clean and neat. I've seen some that's just plain sloppy. Beautiful family as well my friend. Love the gorgeous land you live in. God bless you and yours...
What a wonderful Your life and your family also, I really respect your life and arts And I hope take a guitar of your artful guitar Could you make the only one Guitar in the world just for me?
I'm a newbie Luthier and these videos always rev me up while teaching tons of information. I'm really glad artists such as you share your work for others to be inspired.
I've been playing since '83 and no matter how many times i see others play and esp. build guitars, acoustic or electric, it never gets old. There's always a magic in it and i love seeing through the years everyone's perspective and approach to how they feel it should be in their eyes. So in a sense it's all different but somewhat all the same. I guess that's what makes it appealing to me.... When i see the craftsmanship he put into it, you can see there's a difference in a job vs. something someone's passionate about by the beauty of their art... and his work is amazing!! I'm gonna watch more of his work when i can... Thanks for reading...
I am speachless, we, as North american, (french canadian in my case) buy so much stuff and tools to achive a quarter of your qualité, maybe less. Keep on building those unbelivable guitars!
Gracias señor Hayase por dejarme entrar a su taller y su casa. Ha sido un honor. Su trabajo es sorprendente. Lo felicito y le mando muchos saludos desde México !! 🤝🏻
What a beautiful guitar and what a beautiful family! Singularly sensational craftsmanship, which is fascinating to watch. What a privilege to be able to share in the process of truly artisan luthier. The visual process was matched with pleasant acoustic guitar music. The video left one feeling a sense of peace and calm. Thank you so much for sharing and wishing you peace, happiness, good health and prosperity, always.
I watched the entire process of making the Guitar in one setting. Being a Guitar player myself. I’m always amazed at the painstaking process of building instruments. The care and patents it takes to build slowly. I’m always in a rush to get things done and sometimes that comes back to bite me. My Wife is Japanese and slow completes tasks much slower than me. Which means she takes more care. Loved watching the Guitar being made.
Utterly astounding to watch a true craftsman at work. Wonderful and yet calming too. I want one ... and I'm a keyboard player. Mr Hayase, thank you for sharing this.
Superbly filmed and explained. I like the guitar making process and also how the family fit into, what seems, an idyllic life style. Thank you for letting us into your life. 👏👏👏🙏🇦🇺😁
"To want to discover something that thought itself cannot think". I believe that you have unlocked the paradox in your craft as a Master Luthier. My go-to practice acoustic I rescued from a trash pile (unwanted gift perhaps), it serves it's purpose but to hold one of your masterpieces would indeed be a true gift. Thank you Father, Husband, Parent, Friend and Craftsman.
Seeing the way you work is absolutely amazing Luckily there are humble people like you as well as your lovely family again Bravo and deep respect for your violin making I love take care Bruno Herin from France
It is truly a blessing to: A) Be good enough at something beautiful and valuable. AND B) Find and dedicate the resources to turning that talent into a financially sable career. I truly wish I could be a craftsman, but I am so far from ever having workshop space and tools to accomplish it. When I was a child I used my father's tools and my parents garage to do woodworking. Then later in highschool I used the school's wood shop to complete "shop class" projects...but as an adult I have gotten farther and farther from those resources, and now not only would I have to learn from scratch again, but also buy a house where I can set up some workshop space, etc. Unless you are a multi-millionaire and you can have a home in the city, a home in the country, a home in the mountains, etc - there are so many compromises each person must make when forging their path in life. If you choose to live in the country for the natural beauty, peace, space, and low property costs - you give up all the social benefits of living in a city - and vice-versa.
There’s a saying in America that when you go to get fast food in Japan, what they give, you actually looks like the picture on the advertisement. Serious craftsman. I collect Electra guitars from the 70s early 80s. Some les Paul and telecaster copies as well as the famous Elvin bishop tree of life ES 335 copy. In most cases they surpass Gibson, especially towards the end of the 70s. These are the guitars I love and play every day
Красивая гитара получилась с очень приятным, и объёмным звуком. Талантливый и любящий своё дело гитарный мастер с прекрасной семьёй. В видео очень хорошо передали атмосферу того места, я в восторге от увиденного!
