SYNOPSIS:A young man creates a perplexing mystery in the mind of a young woman by confessing his love for her only when they are barreling down a steep sledding hill.
NOTES:Published in 1886, "A Joke" is one of the over 200 short stories Anton Chekhov wrote in his lifetime. Like many of Chekov's stories, the characters in "A Joke" are richly drawn and emotionally potent making it a story worth retelling! This film short adaptation was shot over 2 days on the snowy hills of New Hampshire and later that summer in Long Island and Brooklyn, New York.
