THURSO SCOTLAND April, 2015. A visit from the most northern town in the United Kingdom, Thurso, to the Orkney Islands by ship is a great adventure. When you travel out of the main holiday season you notice few crowds!
I travelled up there from Manchester on a motorbike. Caught the ferry from Scrabster and spent a magical week there. Being on a motorbike you get to see a lot but boy that wind blew me all over the place. The year was 2017 and I am going again this year if I can. Fantastic.
My Husband farther was was born in orkney the orcadian people are are kind friendly and honest .when I first whent there the tourists from far and wide did not excist. It was like stepping back into the good times.but still an amazing place

I went last year the restrictions were none existent except for a mask but you could apply for a Scottish NHS exemption card, they are free with next to no questions asked
Warren in April it was outside the main holiday period, About 100 or so passengers spread themselves around the many lounges so it looks like it was in COVID-19 lockdown! Very nice voyage, Mike
