AQHA Judge Holly Hover walks us through Sydney Scheckel's showmanship finals pattern at the 2015 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show and explains why she was worthy of the world championship.
This is really impressive wow! We don’t have these shows in the UK, but I recently bought two AMHA fillies and found they do them for mini horses. Trying to work out how to get them this fluid though 😍
This saddens me, only because this is what horses are supposed to look like. Not these steroided up hulks of horses that can barely move, not these noseless arabians that look like the struggle for every breath at a walk or trot.
How? If it was drugged it would have tripped over when backing up or at least stumbled at some point. Just because a horse is calm in demeanor, doesn't mean it's drugged. If anything it's an indication of exceptional horsemanship. My mare was trained for similar competition, and even just walking around the paddock, she looks like this horse. I don't even need a halter, just a tickle under her jaw, and she sticks to my shoulder like glue.
