Having the 1800 form factor means you can still have the number pad and also have your arrow keys, but not together. The Keychron Q5 is made for productivity since it has all of the keys 99% of people will use. What are your thoughts?

Thank you for the support man! If you decide to go through Keychron, they just released the V5 which is the same keyboard but half the price 👌

I don't really use it for work. Mainly for my budget app when inputting my transactions

@@igora50 that’s great man, what budget app are you using?

Just FYI, the price on Amazon includes the shipping cost as if you were to buy it straight from Keychron.

Correct! This is why I recommend going with Amazon, not only does it include shipping, but you get a better return policy as well.

I really like having a numpad, but for ergonomics/space reasons, I prefer using a split ortho layer for it If I’m using a staggered traditional board, I’ll just place had my FoldKB to the right or left depending on what I’m feeling, and if I’m using the FoldKB, I just go to my numpad layer. I don’t prefer ortho over staggered for regular typing, but the “built-in” numpad is pretty great

The numpad is definitely my favorite part for work since I constantly am using it for data analytics. I haven't tried a split keyboard or ortholinear though. Is it difficult to adjust to the format over a normal staggered keyboard?

@@nerdgrafx adjusting to a split keyboard only took maybe an hour max, and my brain adapted to the increased width. It’s just so much more comfortable the FoldKB only has ortho alphas; the mods are regular sized (although kinda ortho layout just to match the alphas) I didn’t find it too hard to adjust to, but I am still a little slow just because the spacing is just so slightly different to where I’ll graze but not actuate the corners of keys. I think if I used a full ortho layout I’d have issues because of every key being 1u. I really like having a few differently sized keys to orient myself, plus it fits standard keycap sets, no need for ortho compatibility or special kits I also have some medium linears in it, so that’s contributing a lot I think. I’d say it took me 15 minutes to adapt 75%, but getting 100% confident with it is taking a lot longer Being able to switch to a number pad on either hand depending on mood/what else I’m doing at the moment is so useful though for data entry

@@jammies701 Yea I can definitely see that. I am not a fan of ortho layout because of the key size. I have struggled with tablet keyboards before since they are not the full size. Could just be that it will take time to get adjusted. This is helpful. I have been looking at getting a left handed 1800/96% just so I can use my left hand and not let go of my mouse. Might have to do something similar as you and get a macro pad so I can adjust it to whatever side I want it.
