I first watched this film round a mates on a comedown lol it hit me like a brick to the soul. Heartbreaking, disturbing, blackly comic at times, just an incredible film. Perfect soundtrack, perfect performances. Highly recommended.
I had "friends"like this,everything started good but things happened that made me feel more and more uncomfortable,and the scene were they pick on his brother made me have flashbacks
I know exactly what you mean, I hated being a kid people pushing me around and telling me I'm stupid and getting hit for nothing.. for years I just forgot about all the crap and just got on with things.. but every so often I go back to a dark place and a list of people I'd hurt in the dark...
I've seen some good movies.... this one is magnificent! My all time favourite. Shane Meadows has a fantastic ability to use great music in his productions...
Know the Matlock town area very well where we was set! Such an amazing film, such pain in this peice of art and so realistically on point! Shane meadows surely made magic In this beautiful film he should be on a throne! So love to you fella

I just watched Bonny Prince Billy 'live' at Coney island ( again! I love this song) Then i scroll to some other of his songs... the film Dead Man's Shoes catches my eye. I totally agree great movie and what a performance of actor toby Kebbell playing Anthony...as Paddy Considine very good too. I often advise my friends to see this movie.The soundtrack is perfect..

This film had been on my list of films to find for a few years, Finally saw it and wish I had sooner. Moved me as so few films do now. Soundtrack brilliants, especially this song and that's how I got here. It's amazing the films and music I could well die without ever seeing or hearing
both are cracking movies and meadows has a very good ear as well as he can match the visuals and music perfectly to capture the mood. Dead man's shoes for me is the best out of the two but its close. Keep up the good work fella
It was filmed in Matlock Derbyshire UK and the end scene was riber castle, the end credits as the camera flew over the castle then flys over lumsdale. .
I dont think there is another film that i have seen that brings in so many raw emotions while watching this, and after watching this film i sat down thinking about it and could not get what i had seen out of my head for a while and what had happened this has to show how great the film is, when you question yourself about what you would have done THIS FILM REALLY DOES CHANGE A PERSONS OUTLOOK ON LIFE. not sure what the film comes under but to me it's not entertainment i think the only thing i would say is LIFE CHANGING. I have some 'very close' friends.. who can't bear to watch it!.. I understand.. It's 'gritty'!.. I was from just down the road!.. and it 'so easily' could've been MY story!!.. BRAVO Shane, Paddy, Toby, Gary, Stuart, Jo, Paul, Neil, Emily, George, Andrew, Seamus.. and 'all those, who contributed, to possibly the 'BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER'!!.. One of my 'All-time favourite movies'!!
Watched an interview with Paddy about the making of the film and how they came up with scenarios of events that had happened growing up.. and how people had not paid for what they'd done. This people were still going around free, this movie speaks to redressing the balance and seeking revenge for the past... what's so powerful is the fact Richard recognizes that he's now turned into the monster by the actions of others and what they did to his brother. To still have the integrity to understand right from wrong at this point is incredibly powerful " you were supposed to be a monster" in one of the last things Richard says before the knife is plunged into him...
Wow. This song is so Beautiful. The soundtrack to this movie went right to No1 for me (Adem´s Statued goot me hooked!), with The Departed and Local Hero. Love it
hey man, you should perhaps watch "Once Upon a Time In The Midlands," or "Somers Town," They aren't especially great ha ha, but movies like this & 28 Days Later are fantastic.
