It should be possible to charge her criminally for locking him out and ADMITTING in front of millions on tv that she knew the law. That should at least get him extra money for punitive damages.

The landlord has all those unnecessary rules they’re tenants not her children she seems insufferable to live with

I think he paid the landlord the full amount. The way that she walked out of there like she was on top of the world. As if she got a bargain out of the deal. Makes me think that he did pay the whole thing. And she's glad to keep 50% of his money.

Something is really wrong with that lady, I knew she’d be stupid when she walked in grinning like a jackass. In any state you can be arrested for a lockout because a tenant has a right to access, some states make it a misdemeanor. She seriously needs help, she willfully broke laws and had no remorse she needs a civil commitment. Lastly, ho…you are not cute, stop…just stop.

The tenants have to do some research. He was entitled to 3 times the amount he sued for.

I’m really shocked that she didn’t impose any penalty for the air like a lockout. Because of that, the woman will do it again next time.

Defendant is a whack job and just needs to live by herself. You cannot impose rules on tenants based on your own beliefs/morals. If what they are doing is not illegal or destructive, not your business.

Once the judge said he could sue her for $100 PER DAY for the lock out, I would have stopped the case right there and filed with a higher amount.

She's absolutely tripping you're not going to tell me I gotta pay $650 a month for a room and then in the same breath going to try to tell me I can't eat in my room or have overnight guest. You can eat a fat one. Those are tenants, not your children. Judge should've gave him the whole $650 for the illegal lock out she was so proud of.

I had a landlord like this about 20 years ago, I needed to rent a room while going threw a divorce. After 2 weeks I discovered the guy was a creep. After I moved in he told me I could only have girls over, no men, he also asked if I had a bf. At the time I was paying 700.00 for just a room w/shared bath so I felt stuck that first month because I had to sleep somewhere. I ended up leaving before the month was up because he was going in my room and going through my stuff. Some of my underwear went missing and that was the last straw, it freaked me out so I just packed up all my stuff and left 1 day when he went to work. It still creeps me out when I think about that guy.😒

She smiles because her punishment is painless she's done these things before and will do it again.

The plaintiff said in the hall that he has a friend that moved in and then immediately moved out, and this happened before the plaintiff moved in. So wait, the plaintiff knew that the defendant was sketchy and unbearable before he moved in but did it anyway 🤔

Don’t understand how you can go before a judge with no documentation to prove your case. Luckily this disrespectful landlord was honest.

Really wish Judge Milian had amended the lawsuit. Maybe only $350 to start, but an additional $100 per days he was locked out. That landlord was a terrible person.

The defendant was annoying with that constant fake smile. She knew the lockout was illegal and she doesn't care. JM should have awarded something extra to him for that. I am team plaintiff but I think he probably didn't pay all the money and that is why there is no signed lease. That makes sense. Some of her rules were obvious but others not so. No food in the room for example. Mostly no overnight guests. So you are not allowed a love life while you live there. That is too strict. The judge never called him 'a tenant from hell'. I cannot tell whether he threatened her. It is hard to tell who is telling the truth. He should bring a proper case against her for the illegal lockout. I am sure he would win.

I used to live in Hawaii which is a terrible place to rent. Landlords have a lot of control because there’s always so much room on a small island. I would see landlords that had the “no overnight guests “in their lease and it just pissed me off. So glad to be out of there and have a better choice of landlords.
