This song has such a massive ambience and atmosphere to it, I've had it on repeat for like 10 minute straight. Flawless and addicting track. I don't know if this is the proper term, but the "bass riff" starting at 2:19 has such a tight and sick progression, and then the way cymbals and everything just builds for the next like minute *chefs kiss*
Is there a name or term for the effect at around 2:19? To me, what's happening is the synth lead has a distinct 4/4 measure with a percieved downbeat, but when the bass and percussion are added, it morphs the measure to where the downbeat is now perceived where the THIRD beat was in the lead pattern. It throws your brain off in a really satisfying way. It's a very subtle but effective trick I see used all the time, and I'm curious if it has a name (NO, it is not syncopation.)
Wouldn't it be crazy if you only listened to this song once from beginning to end it makes you immortal but you don't find out for many years into the future?
