This is the very first time I watched a video of you sir. This is a privilege for me because all I know about you is through your book.

This life is temporary and everyone who ever existed is gonna die sometime. But what do you do to prepare whats after life? Your life has a meaning,life is not about you come to earth and just live. Then what is life? The answer to this you get when you study islam. And what is after life? The answer to this you get when you study islam.

My algorithms class with Prof. Cormen in 1998 was by far my favorite at Dartmouth. I love the shout out to Prasad at the end. Another world class professor!

At the beginning of the class, Dr. Cormen introduced "Section Leaders." I wonder what is the section leader? Are they GTAs for the courses (I feel it's too many GTAs so they might not). Can anybody let me know what the section leaders are in Dartmouth?
@ThomasCormen

Section leaders are undergraduate teaching assistants, but they do much more than just grade assignments. They lead a 1-hour section each week, they staff open lab hours, and they do much more to support the students.

Not sure why this video got suggested, ended up watching it, but I am a professional software consultant and have created major software products, but I can really relate to this video because I taught in community college for years and saw students go on to such amazing paths. I didn't make too much money teaching there relative to what I do now but it was the most rewarding job on the planet. I used CLR for my algorithms class in college and I used excerpts in some of the classes I taught in community college. This vid really made my day! Hello from Troy,NY!

I had him as a professor for CS 23 back in 1995. Not sure why, but I just randomly thought of him (as one of the best teachers I have ever had), and found this vid tonight. Glad to see Prof. Cormen had such a long career at Dartmouth!

Professor Cormen should've put at least some effort in pronouncing Hanna's last name rather than just saying he can't and skipping it. It's as hard as the last names of some other students he mentioned.
@ThomasCormen
@ThomasCormen Год назад
I agree that I should have learned better how to pronounce Hanna's last name. I really did find it more difficult to pronounce than the last names of the other section leaders, however.
