Very sincere, open hearted talk. Nothing like being open and honest. It is not a sign of weakness but one that of strength and self confidence. Kudos to you doc!
It's unbelievable how humble he sounds when mentioning his academic background at Princeton, Carnegie Mellon, and Edinburgh, as if getting into these top 10 premier institutions is something easy. Not to mention, he's also a professor at IISc.
I had the good fortune of sitting through Prof Sen's QM-II. Best decision ever. It was a real good trip, through not just the bread and butter stuff but also very interesting asides like the physics of falling cats (ehem, Berry phase)!
It was very nice to hear you. You very nicely summarised your career. I also learnt a lot from you and enjoyed your association. My experience in the first decade of research was also very disappointing and sometimes I wonder how I pulled through.
Hi brother....! Please keep a small video on how light was set before or above the board. It was very good light to be visible letters when shooting a video also.
@@dhamdhamsingham2343 Respected sir, Science and technology is always heartless. I am also a professor, when one addresses a gathering, it is responsibility of a man of science to deliver his goods in a systematic way.
I don't know what kind of professor you are. Science and technology is never 'heartless'. You might not have taught yourself well. I really don't know what to write about your ignorance. However I had opportunities in the past to interact with this prof, because I have studied in IISc physics dept. I have seen professors of high level of intellects. Yet they never were mechanical in their approach. They are simple humans, from whom we can learn a lot about life and science. Therefore a scientist without 'heart' cannot be a scientist. In fact a teacher cannot be heartless. So teach yourself.
Also, just to inform you, in IISc, it is usual for professors to share their experiences, so that the students will not get stressed because of the failures which are local in time and space.
@@shyamasundar8820Being a professor only doesn't entitle one to profess. Dr. Sen can show the basic grains of science education through his life story. Simple and erudite. Very rare these days of cacophony and smart selling.
