In this video, we look at gas exchange in mammals. First we look at the structure of the lungs, focussing on two adaptations of the trachea. We then explore the structure and function of the alveoli, looking at how the alveoli are adapted for the efficient diffusion of oxygen and carbon dioxide.
This video is aimed at the UK A Level Biology specifications. Students studying International A Level Biology will need to check their specification.

Hi! I love your videos sir and, considering exams are so close, had an impromptu request for a video. A lot of GCSE science past papers have questions based around practicals but they are more like 'how could you improve this practical' or like 'why may this not be accurate/ representative' type of questions where we must suggest things like 'take more repeats, larger sample, means, values in between, equipment is wrongly used or better could be used'. There are so many types of these questions and so many potential answers yet I am so confused on how to answer them in a systematic and sometimes use the wrong answer for a question (take more repeats when the question is meant to be asking about the equipment/ finding it hard to find the mistake itself) so could you please do a video on how to answer those types of questions, depending on the style of question and whether it is an investigation into a group of smokers for example or whether its a photosynthesis practical? These are just examples. I know it is a lot to ask for but I feel those types of questions based around application of practical techniques are both easy marks yet difficult at the same time and can make a huge difference to one's overall score. I, and many others, will surely appreciate it. Thanks!

Do you think the grade boundaries will be lower this year even if the country does well in exams?
