The artwork was adorable though, and it had such a great message with all the children of different colors and ethnicities holding hands ... Conveying that we are all just one human race. I loved it!
Loved it as well but those loose places really bothered me. It’s possible when making a piece like that to put too much tension in one place which causes the threads of the fabric to stretch in just one area. Re-stretching will not fix this. If the fabric is good quality or you are willing to chance it a steam iron may help fix those areas and then re-stretch. Unfortunately some things are trash unless we are willing to live with the flaws.
Hello Jocelyn 😊 I'm a 60yr old female from Nashville Indiana. There was a family of 3 brothers named Bohall. They weaved baskets here in Brown County, and sold them for a living. I see so many baskets in your videos and always look for them. Because they are worth a lot of money! I've been told some have been found in Pennsylvania. When you have time, look them up and also find out if anyone around you might have one, because they have a certain feel to them. Goodluck sweetie!
Despite what people often say, it is not a good idea to cause brilliant cut glass to ring because my hidden flaws in the glass blank structure may cause sudden ruptures. Many of the people who collect cut glass more seriously than I do frequently discuss how pieces have shattered when people thump them with their fingers to make them ring.
Please when you pick up the cut glass go get a towel to wrap around it. The edges flake so easily if something dings them. That bowl is possibly Pairpoint from the flower period after 1910 and before 1920.
This has bugged me through literally years of your videos. I will mention it once and then hush about it. When you are disappointed by an item you like being unpriced, why don't you drop it off at the checkout on your way out, so it can be priced? Otherwise, other people will be disappointed, too. I worked in retail for decades, and I would have appreciated a customer doing that.
That cut glass "vase" that you picked up with the chip on the edge is actually a water carafe that was usually placed on the dinner table to refill water goblets.
Your area’s Goodwill stores item selections are amazing. Our local Goodwills NEVER offer anything near the quality of what yours do. Most of our local donations are worn/broken or missing something, plus the overall quantity is far below your area’s stores. When I watch your videos, I often forget you’re actually at a Goodwill store because of all the amazing stuff on the shelves. I’m always green with envy.😂
That little blue Chinese like vase is from Fingerhut back in the early 80’s. It had a lid in the same color. It jogged my memory because that was where I learned to visually the size from the description! I was so disappointed they were so small😊
Jocelyn- I went to my first Antique store today and when I walked in, it made me think of you. I felt like I could of been with you. Thanks for all you have shared in all your videos.
When you have an artwork on canvas that has an area that is stretched like the art piece that you bought of the children, you can soak the back with water and let it dry. The canvas will tighten up. I don’t know if that will work with the piece that you bought, but it might the worth a try.
I love Bonnie!! What a sweet lady!! You found some great things!! Love you and your channel!! You’re a sweet person!! Hod bless you and your family!! Much love!! 💖💖💙💙❤️❤️🥰🥰🌺🌺🙏🙏❤️❤️🌹🌹💓💓💜💜💚💚😊😊🦜🦜🦜🦜🦜
I liked a more modern way to display tea cups that I seen somewhere not long ago. The cups were placed all jumbled in a very large clear jar. Not sure what one does with saucers but if the teacups are headed for the bins anyway …
Used to have soooo much fun thrifting. Now have downsized my living space and can’t enjoy my hobby any longer. ☹️ Watching you Jocelyn help me be get back some of my thrifting happiness. 😊 Your new friend Bonnie is fun.
Morning, love this video. I have discovered to take a plush towel with me to put on the bottom of the cart to secure and cushion the fragile finds, it works great. If not, I can find a towel there for fifty cents and use that. Thanks for sharing.
Been to this Goodwill when visiting family near Harrisburg. It is really nice unlike the ones in Fredericksburg, VA. Found ice tea glasses and coffee mugs - never find things like that here.
Omgoodness. Your Goodwill is HUGE. WITH GOOD STUFF. I’m in Springfield Ohio. I believe you’ve been to one of ours. So sad. I’ve got goodwill envy! ❤Thanks great as always!!🙏🚪❤️
Those pedestals with the cyrstal-like blocks, I got something very similar to that at Dollar Tree many years ago. Not sure the same thing but could be.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you take us all.with you around the goodwill shop. I love ❤❤❤ the cut glass dish especially. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Just mist the stretched artwork with water and it will shrink back and tighten up. Works well on stretched canvas paintings as well, and just let it dry. You won't have to re-stretch it.
I have been thrifting for years and I am really disappointed that their prices are out-of-control. EVERYTHING is donated and these stores are really meant for low-income families to be able to afford items .... and I am not criticizing you .... I admire you for taking the time to search and resell .... this is your job ..... and I know it is a lot of work .... carry on !!!!
Thrift stores are under no obligation to price their items so that resellers can mark them up to make a profit. And...they are not "really meant for low-income families to be able to afford items." The fact that the items are donated is irrelevant. Goodwill (in particular, because this is where you wanted to voice your complaints) provides jobs for people who otherwise could not find employment, and they also provide free career counseling, skills training, and résumé prep services that help unlock opportunities for job seekers. You are under no obligation to shop there, but your absence will leave more buying opportunities for others. It's a win-win!
@@GuyWithTheDogs Sorry ... I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I no longer donate to SAVERS and always take my donations to GOOD WILL because I am aware of their community outreach.
What a selection at this Goodwill! I loved the artwork you "didn't need" ;) Fun finds! (I've also seen the tea cup and saucer as a soap dish...candle holder is a cute idea)
The lighted stands are perfect when showing paperweights during a sale. You can also get the black light ones, and it's awesome when showing uranium paperweights or lucite paperweights.
