A Look At A Hand Ported Stock LS3 Intake

This is my first ever try at porting a stock plastic LS3 intake. Opened it up to accept a 102-103mm throttle body, remove EGR tube, removed center posts, sanded down and smoothed out ridges and casting flashing. Will be tested on a stock cube, stock head, big cam LS3 C6. After that it will be tested with aftermarket cylinder heads.

The best intake GM ever made. It’s tough to get any aftermarket rec port intake to make the low end the LS3 intake does only Fast but they’re $1200

Nice work mate just what I was looking for I have a 6.0 being stroked to 408 huge cam and was looking to port my intake can’t justify the price tag for a aftermarket intake for just an almost 30hp gain have ported a shitload of heads over the years and was looking to see if anyone had ported a stock manifold what was it like cutting the center posts out looks like it would have been a tight shit of a job

I am adding a RCR stlye intake with a smaller cam. 220/230 117LSA. Will I see additional gains with the intake? My tuner says it won't.

Robert Preston it made 14hp and 2ftlbs over a stock manifold. It made 2hp less at peak than a FAST 102 but made more power average throughout the power curve and 5ftlbs more peak torque but with a much broader torque band. The dyno video comparisons are on my channel.

Robert Preston it made 570hp/512ftlbs on a stock LS3 with a 244/256 112lsa cam.

Holley makes the gasket. They fit 92-102mm openings. I buy them through Summit Racing

not necessarily but a tune would help maximize the gains.

I want to attempt this. I have some experience with porting. My question is, In your opinion would it benefit my c6 with out the cam? Didn't find much info out there

You won't see gains without a cam because you're not using the added airflow. The engine doesn't demand it. The stock LS3 intake will supply more than enough airflow for a stock car. I would not bother porting unless you have a cam and or heads.
