Defeat is snatched from the jaws of victory when it seems that Hrathen's plans have been undone, only for his minion to reveal the true evil that has been plotted all this time.
I so love Hrathen's arc in this and where he ended up, and how well it was handled. Not rejecting his religion because the people in charge were corrupt, self serving assholes, but pretty much pulling a Martin Luther. Only he nailed Dilaph in the face rather then a list of complaints to a church. Not as huge a fan of the sudden "Oh I love Sarene" bit since, well, Sarene really did not need more "Oh look how awesome she is!" character shilling. And yup, that pool totally would have killed Raoden, yup, that is most certainly a pool of oblivion there....
@@ravenwilder4099 (Spoilers for Cosmere) Riino looks to Raoden and then to a lighthouse. "Nice to see you again. Welcome to your new job. You take the day shift. I'll start working once the sun goes down. Don't bug me til then."
One more part to go! I'm glad Chuck's done this book, I've been enjoying it, and I'm interested to hear Chuck's thoughts on this book later, though I'm also interested to see if a certain bandaged-wrapped individual is going to get a passing mention in the next part (possibly at the end) or if that'll have to wait until later books
I forgot exactly how much happened in this book, and all Branden Sanderson books are like that. A LOT happens, and the ending builds up like an avalanche.
