I used to live in Campbelltown/Mcauthur/Picton Area around 20 years ago, it wouldn't take long to spot a Koala (don't call them Koala bear by the way) if you walk along Georges River, you can see them snugg at the tree and they are actually quite annoying when they are in heat because you will hear them scream kilometers away. Hard for me to see this when they can only find 2 in what I imagine as a day search for them. The number really going down by a lot since 20 years ago, I remember it was around 850000 wild Koala back in 2000 and now they are down to 350,000...
