Hey look! it's the guy from Brawlhalla! Ok jokes aside, while Rayman didn't make it to super smash bros ultimate, we can play him through smash fangames or other types of fighting games!
As one of the people that helped work on Crusade's newest version of Rayman, im glad to see it resonated with you! Always appreciate seeing folks enjoy our game!
Oh wow, didn't think I'd see the Rayman I made on Mugen here lol. There is a lot more negative points to this character than you think (like it has bad AI, cheap moves etc) but I'm glad you liked it aha. Hyperhazz helped me for a lot of the coding and understanding how it works. (the project of Ly and Betilla being playable characters is kinda dead tho, I should probably remove that from the character description)
I assuming you’re more of a Rayman fan but it’s worth noting that Waluigi and another Sonic character (Tails and Shadow being the most common) have more custom movesets made than anyone else, so many 2 more videos that go over them too.
Hello, most of you may not care but I am one of the best Raymans in SSF2 and the best in South America and I don't agree with what I said about Rayman in SSF2. Rayman's ground attacks are incredible for combos and getting closer to your rival, in his air they are only good fair, nair and down air. Up air and back air have a moment where they have a lot of knockback but they don't always connect and without that they are weak and not as useful. I completely disagree on the usefulness of the specials, they are too good. Lockjaw is used for combos, approaches and easily removing the opponent from the shield, it may not be strong but it has its uses. Vortex may be slow and can leave you exposed but the reward of doing it is great at high percentages. Plum is my favorite special and is only used as recovery by other Raymans. It is used to punish, it gives you an advantage on the stage and edge guard. And for recoveries it is incredible because of the amount of mixing you can get. His up b is not as bad as it seems, it gives you a quick and safe option for an opponent above you and for some combos it is used to finish them, if you have no other option and it seems that he is not going to hold on to stage but he does it very well. Rayman is a combo machine but I would still like a rework of the character. My favorite raymans are also the ones from crusade and roa, incredible video dude.
For the curious, Rayman has 2 big disadvantages, the most serious of which is his lack of priority in general, his attacks in almost all cases lose against those of the enemy, Rayman almost always loses the interaction. It is such an annoying problem that in my opinion rayman should be something like 5 places down on the tier list. The other problem is its grab. It has good distance but the entire animation is too slow and the reward is not even good. Their grabs are very bad, none of them kill or give you too much of an advantage. The only minimally decent thing is his down throw, it can be used for combos at low percentages and little else. However, it is not as serious as the first problem since Rayman can win without grab.
after playing ssf2 rayman again, I guess I was a bit too harsh on his specials. I probably should have played him around more then just practice mode, your comment actually helped a lot, Thank you. (also wow I completely forgot to talk about his grabs)
