An overview of the West Mountain Radio N8XJK. Take a look at the inside and connection points. Then hook it up to power and show the input and output values. I'm using a Lipo battery pack that only provides 12.1 volts at max charge. This unit allows me to boost my power to 13 volts to feed my armature radios.

I ordered this a while back for my semi and finally received it UPS and have no clue how to connect my radio to this. I’m daily new to CB radio and feel like I have a $300 booster that I can’t even use at this point

It goes inline from the battery power to the radio.

@@RicksGadgets I got it working and wow what a difference. I noticed the fan isn’t running. Is it supposed to be on all the time ?? I appreciate your response.

@@244-badnews2 It will only kick on if the temps get high. So if you are cycling it frequently, it will probably come on.

Is it RF quiet on HF? I had an MFJ-4416C that generated severe hash and birdies every 20KHz. I returned it rather than attempting to mitigate

I have not seen any problems yet. I have only used it a handful of time while doing FT8. I am waiting to test some more with my portable rig to see how clean I can get the signal away from RF around my house.

@@RicksGadgets thanks for the video sir! I'm looking forward to hear back about the RFI when using this with a portable HF. 73, w0kni

@@Laniercrew I don't buy from Amazon. Is there any radio store that carries them?

@@sammiller6631 I don't know. Amazon was the first place that came up when I searched RC watt meter. I don't see any radio stores on the search.

Can this be used in a mobile with engine running also?

I have not used it in a car. But I have read other comments about how well it works in a car and cuts out engine noise.
