@@casefarmgirl2279 In my eyes you just dont drive diagonally over rows of grass. Especially with a loud of bales on a wagon. You will push grass in the ground, and when its wet you will get more sand in your silage.
@@casefarmgirl2279 after you manured and fertilise it has time to grow and showered by rains. So its clean when you mow it. When you mow only drive over it on the headlands and rowing is a necessary evil. The pit isnt on sand usually so thats no problem. The crude ash content count on a grass sample result says alot about the quality of a farmers/contractors work
