The United Auto Workers union strike now has Ford rethinking where it's going to build future cars. CEO Jim Farley said when UAW shut down the company's Kentucky plant, it changed its relationship with the union. Marick Masters, a business professor at Wayne State University, joined CBS News Detroit to weigh in on the issue.

Why would any auto manufacturer ever unionize after the colossal nuclear bomb created by the strike ? Wow, foolish. Automate, automate, automate and move to right to work states

It’s either 1000 workers making a competitive $25 an hour in the US, or 500 making $42 an hour in the US and 500 making $8 an hour in Mexico. That’s how it works. We know Shawn Fain prefers the $42 and $8 option. That seems like a good deal for the 500 making $42 an hour but a bad deal for US manufacturing overall. Being pro-UAW and pro-labor are not necessarily the same things.

@@jallen1227 there are no robots at the moment that can do it; Tesla tried and failed; BMW are trying right now. Japan the mecca of robots haven't being able to remove manpower. So first NO SHAREHOLDER will ever agree to lose money on technology until is forced; second having only robot manufacturing is not sustainable you lose tons of buying power. third the technology is still far from (BMW has one robot right now as I said but is extremely expensive and insanely slow)
