Went to see them in Chicago and someone brought their 6yo daughter. Joakim asked how old she was and responded with “I wish my parents let me go to metal concerts at that age. Actually they still don’t so don’t post this shit on Facebook.” Then gave her his sunglasses. I love this fucking band.
@@zombiecombatdeltaforce ive heard so many resist and bites and ive heard this all so many times slightly different, sombeody knew he was going to play smoke on the water, and then he does master of puppets, at this point, just look up resist and bite live and youll get the same result
Funnily enough, Joakim actually has written some of the Sabaton guitar solos, and he composes the music on both keyboards and guitar... So he does actually play pretty damm well...
@@krzysztof4607 I know he did all of the ORIGINAL composing for To Hell And Back with a Fender Stratocaster, because he has specifically mentioned it when talking about how he took it as a challenge to do a mix of spagetti western & metal (& rest of the band though he was crazy). The problem is that he often uses BOTH keyboards & guitars the same day & for the same song, when writing music. So he might do a chorus on a guitar and rest of the song with a keyboard... or vice versa. Or do a bit of the melody on a guitar and continue tweaking it on the keyboards... It's a bit tricky to tell some of the specifics since for examble Joakim often says "we" & "Sabaton" for things that are really 100% just him... like he did ALL the composing for the first decade & he still usually said "we wrote a song". + Joakim often lets the guitarists tweak or staight up write their solos (if their idea is better, same for the drummer). Unfortunately most interviewers don't ask specific/ good questions about it. (edit: I just re-watched the Sabaton History ep.1 for Gliffs of Gallipoli, Joakim says in it that he wrote the guitar solo for that song.)
In the show I saw, Joakim did the riff from MJ's Beat It and said: "Yes, Michael Jackson actually taught me to play. It's true; I got in touch with him as a child!" Fucking savage XD
They did the same at their show in Madrid. It's awesome when they add jokes and comical sections like this to their shows. Sabaton was a really fun band to see live, and I will always go see them again when they come back.
I went to the last of Heroes on tour. Besides playing a great show, they were really funny with their comments. I can't wait until I see them back in Anrwerp.
I saw these guys in October when they came to Seattle. Two songs in, Joakim said the band was, and I quote, "complaining about how I talk too much in between songs, so I'm going to make the ultimate sacrifice and shut the fuck up."
I've been to two of their concerts so far, and they NEVER fail to entertain! They always do right by their fans, too. You'll leave the show knowing you got your money's worth, and then some. \m/
I've held this guitar once! True story! I used to work in a second hand store and a guy representing Sabaton came in looking for furniture that the guys could use at a Dreamhack event. I told the guy I was a huge fan and he let me hold the guitar! One of the best days of my life!!!!
I feel weird watching this video ... I remember being at the concert that day, it was in Strasbourg, France. Me, a German guy, in Strasbourg (France, Elsace, heavily fought about in WW1 and WW2) at a Sabaton concert, them singing about war and warfare and just driving back home after the concert. Germany, France, so many wars have been fought and in 2014, nobody cared. Driving over the "border" was just crossing a white line, someone drew on the road. I had to slow down ... but there were no border patrols, nothing, no one cared. It was 2014 and the German-France border, why should anyone be there? Now, 2020 f*ing Corona being part of my daily life, I'm hoping for things to go back to the "good old times", I miss going to France, watching my favorite band and nobody even mentioning the fact that I'm not from their country FFS, our countries were at war not too long ago (my grandparents were alive during war times) and I miss going to concerts in that country ... I so want to go back to 2014! I want to feel like a citizen of Europe again.
Last time I saw them live Chris kept on sneaking behind Joakim and grabbing and pinching his nipples or jamming his fingers into joakims ribs. Making him laugh while singing. So funny!
Damn I love this band!!! So much fun to see live. The first time I saw them live they opened for Nightwish in Denver Colorado (Yes that Nightwish show.) I'll never forget at the end he noticed a girl maybe ten years old in the balcony. He said: "See metal is for everyone. You need a souvenir." He tossed his sunglasses to her. I've been a fan ever since! I love telling that story! Love Sabaton!!!
You guys do realize that floor is part of the choir (sometimes she is the ENTIRE choir) on some of their albums... right? She seems like a sweet person! Some of the songs she sings on though... I feel like they ought to at least turn her down a bit. She’s almost as loud as Joakim on some of them...
Bro when I saw your name I about had a heart attack... but no you aren’t the Jonas that recorded Great War... anyways I can think of a lot... she’s too loud on devil dogs. I feel like her voice needs to be down as low if not lower than the guys singing in the band. But with that song specifically the part that’s really bothering is the glorious deeds part. She shouldn’t have been on there or should he turned down a bit. Now on the songs from the art of war, hero’s, the last stand and caroles Rex, Peter T had an annoying habit of turning the extremely high range vocals WAY up and turning the boys in the bands vocals WAY down. Which does absolutely not work with joakims bassey voice. It’s especially bad on cliffs of Gallipoli. The live version sounds so much better to me. Honestly I kinda wish they would mix it in the same style that attero dominatus was mixed. How peters brother tommy mixed sabaton vocals was actually great! (And Jonas did pretty good too... amazing actually. I love his engineering style it’s just that one part I mentioned above kinda ruined the song for me...) but the way tommy did it with Joakim up front, the guys in the band just a bit behind him and the high range choir behind them. To kind of add a bit of blue sky to the painting. When I hear floor and the rest of the choirs voices so loud it’s like smudging blue all over the picture and it just gets kinda covered with that. In other words, it doesn’t blend well to my ears.
No, no, no! Floor is in "Future of warfare" and credits of Christmas Truce". NOTHING before Great war album. She's NOT part of the choir, she is a guest singer. The female choir for Sabaton is basically the same from all the way from album Primo Victoria! It's a band members mom, aunt, Joakims old swimming coach, a teacher and someone else. I've heard Joakim list them and it's 5 local ladies from Falun, but I'm not going to hunt down the video now. He's said he loves their voices. There could be variations, but that IS the usual Sabaton female choir!
@@N617A I think it's up to the individual listener, but I'm not saying your wrong. That wasn't my issue. Just making sure people don't think Floor is actually regular part of Sabaton. Lets not give the work, the ladies who are not superstars do, to someone else... Whether we like it or not, credit to those who did the work.
How he plays, sure. The type of guitar not so much. Though I would absolutely pay to see Yngwie bust out a modern superstrat, just for how wrong it would look.
is she ACTUALLY playing with a frickin' upside-down guitar or is the explanation much simpler and it is a left-hand guitar? If it was one, the machine gun body would look weird, with the handle pointing upwards.
So trhey had a guest, and that turned into a fullonn batle between avery guitarist and the singer of the band to see whos the best guitar player? gotta sse them live in guess sounds fun
The ZTimeLord The accent of the crowd when people shout :"Chris! Chris!" seems french, so I'd say it is a tour in France. The most known metal tour in France is the Hellfest, so it should have happened in the Hellfest.
