Good stuff mate, I just saw this. Most of it I do know, there are some things that I wasn't fully aware of. There's actually a lot of stuff I'd love to add to this based on my Luke experience. I kind of wanted to expand on your drive rush normals, you can actually expand the normals you use and it fully depends on who you're facing. You can actually use 5MP/5HP a lot on some characters, 5LK on the ones coming in low, even 5HK from extremely far drive rush ranges. There's a lot of frame kills you can add, kind of a gripe of mine about SF6 now is so much of it is just easy setplay stuff, I would really like a delayed wakeup sort of mechanic at least increase the creativity and make people manually time stuff. As far as 5MP as a poke, it is great of course, just be careful because the pushbox doesn't appear until like 6f or so. What that means is, you can actually walk back against this move very late, and this is one of the only moves Luke has that has that property. I never published this, this move can whiff very easily if you're not careful. 5HP mixed with 5MP is the best scenario IMO. 5MP is better when you expect it to actually hit, especially if you can confirm into lvl3 raw (does 400 more damage), 5HP xx LP sandblast is better I would say because of it taking away almost a full drive stock, similar damage, better range, 2f pushbox vs 6f. I've been dying to make a vid of it but haven't had a chance to. Also, in general I would avoid using lvl2 in a combo where you drive rushed inside. What it does is freeze cooldown, and Luke's lvl2 since it's so long regenerates a ton of drive. I would use OD tackle or just not use it at all, and wait for some sort of OD Knuckle confirm into it to the corner so you can start replenishing drive right away and put yourself in a +3 scenario.

2:19 - This is also useful if you think that the opponent is going to mash cr.LP in the corner The only problem is how to space it correctly and whether or not the opponent may be in range of the grab, but it is a great whiff punisher EDIT: clarification
not a luke player but this video is really good, i wish other fighting game guides were more structured like this instead of someone just doing stuff live unscripted in training mode
As always, awesome guide. Do you have any plans on making a Luke corner pressure guide in the future? That is an area I could really use some guided advice in.
Unrelated but how tf do i make (meaty) hk plus after wall bounce into shoulder. is it the shoulder timing or something to do with the dash? I don't get it.
If you do M knuckle wall bounce, dash, stHK correctly, then you're always 0 on block and can combo into crHP on hit. It's impossible to make hk plus on block (except for burnout or drive rush of course). If you have trouble timing it correctly, it's probably the dash that you're messing up. At least that's how it is for me, I find it hard to perfectly buffer dashes. The frame meter in training mode can help you check if you're buffering everything correctly
Right after that combo which ends with a DP, you need to whiff a crouching Light punch and then immediately do a standing heavy kick after. If you timed it correctly, your meaty standing heavy kick can combo into crouching heavy punch
Honestly, I've been struggling trying to get jump back Mk to AA honda butt slam! I usually just go for Perfect parry or Lvl 2 if i have it. Never thought to use cr. Hp! Thanks!
Hey Jeako! How do you deal with fighting game burnout, or burnout in general? What keeps you motivated? I set a goal for myself to reach platinum in ranked with Luke when I started to keep me motivated. After some time playing I found myself getting burnt out of the game and wondering if my goal was worthwhile. I took a break for a month-ish and just came back to the game a few days ago. I'm having fun again, which is great, but I'm wondering how should I proceed so as to not burnout again. Super appreciate having your videos to learn from. Thank you!
I think it's normal to feel burnout and take breaks. What makes the goal not worthwhile? Is it because it feels unachievable, or is it because you don't actually want to achieve that goal in the first place? If it's the former, then set smaller and realistic goals and achieve them step by step. Slowly feeling the effects of improvement is what motivates me personally. Maybe it's only one aspect of fighting games that burns you out, like grinding ranked for example. There's many ways to improve, like playing ranked, custom room sets, learning matchups in training mode, watching your replays, watching high level matches, etc. Finding a balance between these things and taking regular small breaks can help making things feel fresh. But again, there's nothing wrong with feeling burned out. There's many moments where I don't feel like playing much myself. Having fun is what's most important. Don't make playing video games feel like having a job.
@@jeako777 I think it’s more that I don’t actually want to achieve the goal. I mean I still kinda do, and it seems achievable. I think I was wondering why pursue that specific rank as a goal. I was getting tired of the small little corner of grinding ranked that I put myself in. I wanted to improve, but I didn’t really know of ways to improve while having fun. I think you outlined some specific ways that I could try, so thank you for that man. I think another part of it is that I wondered what was the meaning in trying to get better at fighting games? Like you said, fun seems to be the most determining factor and I’m looking for ways to keep Sf6 fun. Thanks for the thoughtful response man.
The sweetspot combo, i cant feel it... sometimes i get 200 more dmg, other times i guess i get more frame advantage? maybe you could do like a short about how to learn it? i dont get it at least :P Really need some good combos from OD knuckle, since not all combos can be from cr.hp
@@jeako777 Thanks man, your vids help ALOT! I think i got it now. My "timing" is: down press as soon as lukes arm is above his head, after his hand has left opponents chin, very easy visual. then timing the hp input. a bit harder. (im on full buttons fightstick, i can hold forward, then just tap down and hp after :) merry christmas
Great video as always! Do you by chance happen to compete? I would like to see and support your matches if you do. Also you must be at the top if you happen to know all this luke tech/game knowledge against other characters by memory 😅, It's insane how much you've put out on Luke so thanks once again!
Thank you! Nah I don't compete I just play ranked lmao. Maybe in the future when I get good. Oh no, I definitely haven't memorized all this stuff myself, I just usually lab most of this stuff and share it. I'm sure we get better at memorizing this over time with more experience.
0:08 after the med flash knuckle, you do DR heavy punch into heavy flash punch You can alternatively do DR heavy punch into perfect light flash knuckle into his shoulder bash for insane + frames off knockdown and better damage :)
I didn't charge the H knuckle at the end on accident. I meant to do H perfect knuckle, which does more damage and gives better oki than the combo you mentioned.
For the sideswitch combo at 2:52 you can alternatively do a 5LK after landing instead of whiffed air move into land 2LP. When I first saw this by MenaRD he did the framekill with the 5LK I assume it's less noticable of a tell over a whiffed air attack. In any case great video as usual.
