Use to haul out of a magazine printing plant in Des Moines. Among the publications they printed were Better Homes and Gardens, and Penthouse. For some reason they always were short a bundle or two of Penthouse at delivery. Never a shortage with Better Homes. They solved the shortage problem when they started leaving free copies for drivers to help themselves to on the dock!
I used to pick up a load at Mcglynn's bakery by Minneapolis. The break room had every kind of pastry there was. Everything was for the drivers and the best coffee for free.
Recently you mentioned CDL's costing 10K to 15K for a 6 week school. Took care of the $5150 for my grandson for his 4 week class in OKC. 53 years ago mine was mostly free I think but I stayed with Halliburton for 38 years. Times and quality of training change.
I used to haul raw milk into Blue Bunny 20-25 years ago. The ice cream treats were nice when unloading and getting washed. The Omaha plant had mainly just milk products.
If you travel the 29 a lot, you should check out the truck stop at exit 110. Graybill chrome shop. Lots of parking and a McDonald’s. They also work on trucks, mostly hood trucks. all the bull racks stop there. The chrome shop will keep you in there for hours!lots of fun stuff for KW’s and Peterbilts Good bunch of guys too.
I love graybills he stopped at the BP truck stop the other night when he was dodging tornadoes I always love the chrome shop decent prices and quality lights and chrome you can't go wrong with that
@@braddamron1008 I had them quote me on a rear main seal for 3500$ When the dealer quoted me 11,000$ so I had them do it and it’s been good so far! Four years now.
I haul milk from the farm to a cheesestring factory and they hand out 2 free ones every time you empty there. They almost stopped recently because of some ''drivers'' who just left with the entire box a couple of times...
I had to rewind and see at around 3:29 into this video, if I really saw some Finnish language (name of the company Huhtamaki on those boxes inside the trailer). And it sure was. Probably the first time in your videos that I recognized something Finnish 😁 They have production sites of packaging solutions in the U.S. including De Soto, KS. Thanks for bringing us along. It’s always a great ride 👍 -Mika from Vantaa, Finland.
Ohh the old hand slap test, hit the tyer hard enuf and it does work, lol, my hand has never forgiven me. haha, you all be safe out there now you hear. Big ups from NZ. Chook.
I wish we could get some of that rain here in central Ks. We are still in drought. Oh by the way, Casey’s in Ellsworth is getting fuel islands. It is a ways off yet but I will let you know and can keep you informed about the prices. You and all the Schmidt’s be blessed and havagudun.
The Ferrero Group. That's who acquired the Wells Blue Bunny ice cream from the Wells family. Know David Wells from his drag racing days. And yes Ferrero Group is Italian.
Kurt, I really enjoy your videos and the star of the show, Opie. Your comment about Casey's rang a bell with me too. We have 2 Casey's here in my hometown of Moberly MO and the one I always patronized has really gone down hill. My wife said it was out of unleaded gas for 2 days! And the overall appearance is not good, looks run down and downright dirty. Can't believe an outfit that big has these kind of issues.
Sausage, egg, and cheese McGriddles are good, but if you can find a McD's that sells a Chicken McGriddle; you will find heavan in a breakfast sandwich!
Pretty sure that was Hinton, Iowa not Lawton. And the Wells Dairy in LeMars in 2022 was bought by the Italian-based Ferrero Group, one of the world's largest food manufacturers. Love your videos !!
there was a loud "BOOM" here yesterday morning, at first I thought someone's house blew up, then didn't hear any other noises, so I quickly looked at state highway cams to find one of them billy-bob flatbeds with a blown left steer tire, safely stopped on the left shoulder and out retrieving what was left of the tire off the highway a ways behind. mystery solved. that blow out was extra loud for some reason, as compared to the many others I've heard, probably had to clean their pants and seat afterwards. 🤣
Joe from New Jersey!!...Kurt enjoyed the video!! First class lookin good so is the beard and the sunglasses!!Opie he is a character!!hahaha!! Be safe see ya next time❤❤😅
I suppose many truckers anticipated that free ice cream, can't be faulted for that. 1972, in Pennsylvania, my dispatcher asked me to stop in at the Mrs. Smith's Pies factory to pick up a load. Being responsible for the load, I counted every package that went on board. When I delivered in Omaha, one of the receivers told me there is a few extra pie packages. HUH? Thought about that over the years, I'm at a total loss to explain how those fellas managed to get those EXTRA pies on board without my noticing. Might I wasn''t as sharp as I gave myself credit for being. Man o man, them pies were very tasty. Just my good fortune to be assigned to that load. Maybe one day, in a different way, it'll happen for you. Fingers crossed. Be well and safe. Thankee for the ride.
Good boy, Opie. You let him know who's really in charge. I do have a feeling that dad is going to get even with you with those burritos later on. Thanks for a great ride. Safe travels, and God bless.
Hi Kurt, last vlog you said something about dry eyes, its a sign you are not drinking enough water, try 1 litre a day for a month, it worked for me. Opie showing us who's in charge great vlogs keep them coming regards John
Do you have a microphone in my house? You started hitting those tires with your hand (and I always watch your vlogs with my husband, an ABF retiree) and I’d no sooner gotten out of my mouth “what good will his hand do, he can’t tell pressure” and my husband answered “he can tell sound difference” , and you started with the same explanation! Freaky!
Puppy needs the beef jerky. He''s a growing boy!!! I got a question. Is that place that you're delivering to in Olathe KS right behind another trucking company? Another company that delivers refrigerated freight as well? I'm asking because I used to work for that company. Mind you it was a quarter of a century ago! But I do think that they're still in business. Anyway just wondering! Have a safe trip and keep it between the lines! God bless
Sorry but I could careless about seeing a sunrise or sunset! I haven't been to McDonald's since September 2022 when they kept raising their prices & the quality fell overboard with subpar cold food that looked like it been sitting around a while. About the only way to get a semi reasonable deal at McDonald's now is order on the app & use the deal section & then it's still overpriced. O, who can afford Beef Jerky now, it's almost $2 an ounce. Inflation is killing everything from grocery store food prices, small & big chain restaurants closing their doors at some locations if not entirely!
I cut my hair once per year and i shave my beard about 3 times per year. lol I can grow a beard like yours but it drives me nuts. My brother gets jealous because he can't grow much of a beard at all. He got more of the native American side of the family lmao
