Yeah, I think she's portrayed as being really brave tbh, and very earnest and just puts her whole heart into things. She's not ashamed to be open about her emotions. I think that's admirable.
@@catbeara Totally agree no just wish they would have made Jiang Chen work a little harder to get her back! And another thing, the scene where they were adults and he drove her home then came back and brought her keys she dropped in his car, what was he demanding she apologize for??!! I still haven’t figured that out after watching this show a million times!! 😂😂😂
@@fahizahreena6222 yeah but character wise he is more likeable as in he doesn't make fun of her or ignores her like the character in the chinese version
The original drama is still the best for me, it’s just their chemistry was so good there and I liked the actors a lot. The kdrama version is cute too, but I feel like it’s a Little bit too rushed (and yes I know they only have like 20mins in each episode) but still 😅
agree that its too rushed. but i think they will focus more on their college or after college life. in orig ver. the first half focused on their high school life and then the sec half focused on their college and after college life. well, i dunno that just my guess. lets wait for the remaining episodes. 😅
When I watched the original I felt the nostalgic feeling, maybe because it has more episode so the teams have time to show more details. The Korean version is cute too but to be honest it just like another teenager web drama, cute but feels bit empty because it rushed, and the acting for some character is still stiff.
@@jiyuchan17 also k version when they act childish it's turns out more of cringey, but in c original version is already natural bcoz they already cute so they no need to act cute but instead of they act as prettily and matured the same time to be more convincing and funny. 😆... that's why in variety, soft storyline but short I like cdrama ,but for dramatic and serious storyline I like kdrama.
@@jiyuchan17 ikr korean one is also very good but it feel the same as other common kdrama while the chinese one make me feel so nostalgic, see how they make the drama had so many life lesson tho. Friendship, love, dissapointed. Idk how to say but it is just different than other drama
I have the same thought too. although the korean version is cute but I feel that the original version is more sincere and relatable high school life for me.
So far I prefer the Chinese version because the male character is cold, the Korean version is warm I think. but it's no less good. I still finished it because I wanted to see Kim Yo Han and So Joo Yeon.
“Xiaoxi, where’s your self-esteem?” “It’s all yours now!” 😂😂😂😂 And the scene of her in the stairwell reciting the play trying to convince him to be in it, kills me EVERY TIME 😂😂😂
many would say he's so cold, the girl is the one chasing him, but knowing Jiang Chen's side of the story made me understand why he's like that.. it added more spice to the story actually..and who could forget Xiao Xi, right? I find her likeable, and so sincere that you would be moved.. this version is so close to my heart too, the chemistry is so strong.. one of the best Chinese dramas I've seen..
I love both versions bc the Chinese one explains their lives more and the cast was amazing and the Korean version bc the male lead makes it kinda obvious that he likes her and also the cast is amazing Both versions are so good you can’t go wrong with either 🥺💜
The way Shen Yue says "i just heard you say the word, girlfriend" and Hu Yitian says "Why? You have a problem with it?" And she replies "No,not at all. No problem there. Welcome!" 😂😂thats so funny! Who says welcome in this situation..it was an epic scene indeed!!
Lmao the fact that the JC thinks she is literally insane just adds an endless layer of humour to every interaction. In the novel as well, he keeps thinking she's a nutcase, it's so funny.
Chinese version give different vibe tho. Happy, heartwarming, sincerity, old memories, lessons of life ughh i can't even move on pls they so cute together. But it doesn't mean korean version is bad. Maybe it because the actor in korean version seems very young and kinda cute while the chinese one is quite matured and fierce so it goes well with the character.
The Chinese version has warmth and depth by addressing retable humanistic relationships and scenes in comparison to the Korean. The writing and acting are in a whole other level. It gave me a similar vibe to the Korean drama reply 1988. Korean ver just felt like surface level entertainment with no actual depth. I couldn’t bring myself to finish the Korean one tbh.
That's interesting since Reply 1988 is my favorite Korean drama and A Love So Beautiful is my favorite Chinese drama. I also recommend the Chinese drama Go Ahead. But get ready to cry!
Chinese version is still the best but this does not mean korean version is bad..its good too..it brings back memory and feeling of chinese version while watching the korean ver.
There are a lot better actors in the Chinese version with more experience.. The korean remake focused mainly on the popularity imo. It’s so sad, it could have been such a good version if the cast was more skilled :(((
I like the original version better, the chemestry between the actors was just really good! Their height difference was so cute. Jiangchen being tsundere and savage was so fun to watch and the scenes with Xiaoxi made my heart flutter, especially during the time skip when they became adults. Cha Heon is way more kind and and it's obvious he likes Seol-i, I wished they had more scenes together since they are always with their friends or inside the class.
The way she says, "Jiang Chen" !!!!🥰 Yeah, I've watched a lot of K-drama but I must say that nothing ever can beat the Chinese version of A Love So Beautiful...
A love so beautiful is very special to me. It's the first Chinese drama that I've watched. It helps me with my anxiety. I watch this everytime I feel alone or lonely. The Chinese version is really irreplaceable. The Korean version seems okay. I'll try watching it soon.
K version is fine if you're not going to compare it to the original but I'm doing it anyway ahahaha. Both had the same premise but the vibe isn't really the same. For one, I prefer Jiangchen over Cha Heon. His little smiles left us wanting for more. His responses were unreadable that's why it was so satisfying when we got to the last epilogue where it revealed how and when he started caring for Xiao Xi. In K-ver, it was more obvious that Cha Heon likes her. He smiles a lot which is equally swoony but it just takes away the "slow-burn" aspect of the drama. But it's not that bad! Just treat it as a very light rom com and you're good to go.
I absolutely agree with everything you said! I think that the small smiles really add to it, in the KDrama Yohan’s smiles were very warm and bright but didn’t quite fit with the cold character trope. The only thing about the Chinese drama for me is that I wish in Jiang Chen’s crying scene we could hear him cry more than just a small voice, then it would’ve really shown the first time we’ve seen him vulnerable or cry.
oh yasss the cold Jiang Chen is really so satisfying, and it making me wanna rewatch it all over again after they released the epilogue arghhhhh we knew it!
Shen Yue just brings a spunky cuteness to every role she does. She's not a trained actress but she comes across as real in her roles. I especially loved her in this one and in Meteor Garden.
Dear Netflix, stop taking away the chinese transcript. One of the reasons I'm actively watching Cdrama is to get better at mandarin and transcripts are sooo useful for that. Bonus point if you add it on kdramas too 😘
Honest opinion time: I don't remember the exact year the original drama came but I remember watching it in my second year of highschool and it is one of the few dramas that I hold great fondness for. The C drama could be considered more of a slice of life sort of drama because there was a lot more going on other than main romance plot and I actually learned important lessons from it. Not to mention the chemistry between the whole cast was top notch and made the whole drama quite organic to watch. Now that i am in my first year of university, i was pleasantly surprised to see a remake. This one falls more in the romcom category, I admittedly like the main hero showing more fondness towards the girl as initially in the C drama i was mostly frustrated with Jiang Chen and his lack of action. I admit that i really don't like the main actress too much, for one I feel like she has too much of a mature look to capture the naivety and innocence of Chen Xioxi. She tries to act cutesy but in my opinion it ends more on the cringey spectrum. I do like the Korean version of Wu Busong which is quite surprising since Wu Busong is my all time favourite and i didn't think i would like another version of him so much but the actor did a great job and gave his own spin to the character which made it more interesting to watch. I really do think the other two friends need to work on their acting skills. I am no judge and i am sure they are working hard but overall the cast is missing the chemistry and spark which isn't helping me engage too much in the story and i find myself skipping a few scenes here and there
the chinese version will always have a special place in my heart. i still can’t get over how good this show was,, from the actors to the plot, it was a really nice series to watch
Comparisons like this bring out what an amazing actor shen yue is. The myriad of emotions that cross her face in a matter of seconds is unbelievable. She does it so effortlessly that it doesn't even look like acting. Love this girl. No offense to the other actors. They are good too, but my girl is just a tad bit special. :)
So the one thing I liked more in the Korean version was the transparency with the male lead. With little glimses of his smile we could easily understand that he's also interested in her but is somewhat embarrassed to admit. However, the chemistry and story telling in the chinese one is far better and really makes you fall in love with the characters and their world. But, I'm really enjoying watching the korean one and reliving to fond memories from the original❤️❤️
Argh i just cant move on with the ending that they walked together and suddenly it turns to their school uniform , i hope korean remake will end like that too :)))))
I respect both the remake was because chinese version was succesfull, lovely, funny and tender..... the lead actors Hu Yi Tian performance Jiang Chen's character cold but we can see how step by step he open his heart, let it go his lonely world and fall in love; and Shen Yue performance perfect Chen Xiaoxi wasn't annoying, was a giro cheer up, happy, funny, strong you can see in 13 episode, and loyal..... that I most love is the way Jiang Chen confess how important is Xiaoxi in his life why he come back 🥰🥰🥰❤️😍😭🤧..... the storyline, ost the openning song unforgettable, lead actors
Everyones wishing for A Love So Beautiful chinese ver Season 2. But Kor ver is fine, they portrayed Xiaoxi and Jiangchen's role very well! Hoping to see them four together :)
I really enjoy the K-Drama! It still follows the same story, but in their own way, with slight differences. I'm really liking it, gets me longing for Monday, Thursday, and Saturday so I can watch it!
I love the cdrama version of this so far its the best for me maybe because this two shen yue and hu yitian are my most favorite artist in chinese i love them both ♥️♥️🥰 Favorite line of them is JC-nasaan ang dignidad mo? CX-eh di nasa sayo! 2023 but im still here❤
if you watched the Chinese first I guess to watch its remake is just too difficult. I remember binge-watching the Chinese version bro it has a special place in my heart
The Chinese version will always be superior, in terms of the overall vibe, the acting, the chemistry, everything. IMHO most Korean romances are bland these days. Average idol actors being cast in every youth drama doesn't help things either. Chinese romcoms do it better. I prefer non-romance Kdramas.
@@gigiart1631 Well they won't listen and Kpop fans won't relent so here's to more mediocre idol actors in lead roles and more boring romances. It's especially hilarious when you look at the sheer gap in talent between the biggest contemporary idol actors in China and Korea. China's current biggest idol actors are Jackson Yee and Wang Yibo, Korea's... well... Eunwoo, probably Rowoon and whoever else. Watch Better Days (must-watch btw) and Untamed/The Legend of Fei and you'll know why it's so funny. Korea has their share of talented rookies but not enough of them are landing major projects or getting any hype so the future is pretty bleak.
@@doloreshaze8477 I think it’s mostly of this Gen. but back then Idol actor were amazing, cause they actually learned, started with small role and build experience to give the best performance for when they actually get a role. No shade to Yohan but I still can’t belief he gets to be lead in the two biggest acting project School 2021 and A love so beautiful remake without effort in the acting industry. Cha run woo might not be the best actor but he actually build his stand in the Acting industry. To bad he can’t be diverse as he’s being limited to the pretty face in Kdrama by director. Row on still has a long way to go but he didn’t just snatch a lead role like most idols are doing now
I can admit kdrama romances in youth dramas have been pretty bland but I don't think the same with other kdramas. The have been a lot more mature romance style kdramas. It's been a lot more realistic in terms of being in relationships, complexes of each person, misunderstandings, things just not working out even while being good people on both sides. So it totally depends on what kinds do you prefer. I personally like both so both are still great for me.
I think it's also bc Cdrama got waaay better at script writing, production and acting abilities in general. There is a proper difference between idol actors and idol singers. They finally found how to give depth to their drama. On the contrary, Korean idol drama, in an attempt to get away from the over dramatic stereotyped kdrama, lost in terms of depth. My last argument for the drama is simple: HU YITIAN 😜
I saw the trailer for the Korean version and while waiting for it to be released, came across the Chinese version on Netflix. This was my first Cdrama and I instantly fell in love. I’m liking the Korean version too, but because of the 20 minute episodes, it seems a bit rushed whereas the Chinese version was more detailed.
After years of always watching Korean dramas, I finally found a Chinese drama that made me think how beautiful the love between Xio Xi and Jiang Chen was. Starting from watching Meteor Garden 2018 which made me interested & curious of Shen Yue's profile then I saw this drama (and then I was interested in watching other Chinese dramas such as: Put ur head on my shoulder & my little happiness). I have watched too many Korean dramas so I feel Chinese dramas are like new things for me... Ya know what I also looked for the novel of this Cdrama. This was the first time I was interested in reading a novel which then became a drama. This drama makes me unable to move on & Not get bored of watching it again. Jiang Chen is typically a cold & alone man who makes us sometimes annoyed with his attitude. But when we saw in the last episode it turned out that Jiang Chen was a person who couldn't live without Xiao Xi 💜. The novel also clearly describes how Jiang Chen really is. In the novel, Jiangchen is a doctor who is used to seeing death but when Xiao Xi’s sick & ask him if she will die He is so scared. Awww Jiangchen ♥️ I'm really looking forward to the Korean drama remake and it turns out that the original one is even better. I don't mean to insult the Korean version but the Korean version is too fast so I don't feel any chemistry. Hopefuy when they grow up there will be character development from Kimyohan & Sojooyeon
I am huge fan of Chinese version, korean one also good but I feel like they are rushing things fastly without proper way of expression of feelings. In Chinese version actor is too cold outside but warm inside but where in korean actor is cute.
Shen Yue is really a good actress and so cute. That is why I love the Chinese version more because I gravitate towards her and I love Wu Bosong too. Jiang Chen character is very cold and distant.
I love the details. Like when she's trying to get him to do the play w her, he grabs her head and turns her around. To then realize her hair is greasy and wipes it off ahahaha
I watched the Korean version first and I love the main actress, she really made me continue the series. I'm starting the original but I already like this actress as well.
