A Major Tibet Bill Passed by the US Congress. On Thursday, the U.S. House passed a bipartisan bill that will strengthen US efforts to push the Chinese government to resolve the longstanding Tibet-China dispute through dialogue with Tibetan leaders. Known as the Resolve Tibet Act, the bill aims to pressure the Chinese government to resume negotiations with the Dalai Lama’s envoys or the democratically elected leaders of the Tibetan people, which have been stalled since 2010. It is considered a landmark legislation on Tibet by the US Congress. Kunleng invites Ms. Tencho Gyatso, the president of the International Campaign for Tibet, the main Tibet advocacy group based in DC, to discuss its significance for Tibet. Host Phuntso Lhundup.
