Architecturally: Build him a space that's habitable enough(Size of the room),proper ventilation,natural lighting etc. That current structure he's living in is way claustrophobic. A good structure can be made out of bamboo too,won't cost much( church members could make that possible) and if further help is required regarding the technical part of the structure,I can try and help with the detail drawing. Actually iam an architect based at Delhi currently. Good suggestion but rather than building another infrastructure for his confinement, I would rather suggest his families/community to seek help and support from NGO's(dealing with mentally ill person) and Mental care professionals (Psychiatrist, Psychologist and Social worker) for his well being.
Even I was thinking that living in isolation in that confined space could turn even a sane man mad. My heart goes out to the poor old parents who are doing what they think is best and the best they can . However from my observation it seems important to have a conducive living space along with professional counselling with help of local NGOs.

It's hard to see him confined in that adjusted space, this video makes me too emotional because my dad was also in same condition as him and my dad finally died in 2018 after few years of being freed and fully healed.

It's very painful to see his parents in such unmeasurable pain, enduring much hardships despite their old age when some of their age being cared of by their children like king and queen. The only way we can help them for those are in distance is Prayer so kindly do that. May he be healed by the grace of Almighty God and be able to help his parents in their last phase of Life. May the loving God show mercy upon their souls for their unfailing loving.

I felt so sorry and deeply saddened to see this brother staying in this condition for such a long year. May God deliver him from the bondage of Mental illness.
This should be reported to the District Health Officials/ SDO/DC or to the State Govt./NGO etc. or whoever is concerned. Instead of confining him, there must be a better way to treat and solve his problem. Heartbreaking to see such a fine young man (I am saying this because he once use to sing song, play guitar in church as per OP)confined for so long in that condition and pity for the aged parents who are taking care of him. We are not living in stone age anymore 😬, life is precious...approach those in higher authority who have better knowledge/ know how about this (NGO/Govt. etc.etc.)they will be able to guide and support him and his family in a bigger and better way. sending my sincere prayers for him and his parents 🛐

It's really saddening to see his situation. Yes he seems quite normal, it might be that his symptoms triggered occasionally. Please take him to a Psychiatrist(in ur respective DH). with proper meds, care and support for mental care professionals, m pretty sure he'll be become like any normal person.

Is it a cycle or fate,or punishment...I don't know..but I have seen..there are families who has everything,from jobs, financial security,well health.. everything..but to some we don't have anything,the very existence of our living can't be define as a blessing either...there comes a phase where we even question the very existence of God..and why shouldn't we??.we are mortals,just one life.. we have every right to be happy like everyone else...it's sad to see the sufferings from people who don't deserve it.....words can't describe...my sincere prayers are with them.🙂
