@@lazylamont92 it really is. Were you not on social media before the game??? Literally every single post that covered this game the comment section was flooded with "this isn't a rivalry. And even of it was it's a fake rivalry" type of rhetoric So I don't know what your evidence to support your claim but there is mine.
@@XLRAshon 8 meetings in the final. That's all you need for a rivalry, Mexico is a more complete and stable team but America are competent challengers. Especially they are neighboring nations and players from both nations play in the MLS. Your kinda acting biased.
@@lazylamont92 they just seem to hate on it, Mexico alone is already a hated country, add the us and it's hating all together, good game last night 💪🇲🇽
That was the most entertaining game ive ever attended, sucked to lose but it was way better than thursdays 0-0 pk win vs Costa Rica. Congrats to the US fans :)
Thank you, you are lucky to have been there! As a USA fan I hope this rivalry can continue to flourish forever, it never gets old. See you at the Gold Cup!
So incredibly happy with this win. Gregg and the entire roster needed this greatly to relieve some of the pressure on the program. Also instills confidence that we can beat Mexico which is something our young guys might've struggled with otherwise. Reyna was the standout from these two nations league games for me. One of our best attacking talents at 18 and he really should be playing at the 10 rather than a wing role. The resilience of this team was insane, to come back from being down a goal twice is absurd.
It was an ugly win. Mexico had their chances and missed. Our set pieces were on point. We need to be better because Mexico will be ready next time. Either way go USMNT
Mexican fans: its the first time they won in 7 years Next time we win: "oh its only the 2nd time" "oh its only the 3rd time" and they will just keep going because they cant accept defeat
@@alfredogarcia7615 That's disingenuous and you know it. There had been previous incidents of missiles being thrown and slurs that FIFA has told the FMF it needs to put an end to being chanted.
Great game! It’s been a long time since we’ve since these type of matches between Mexico vs USA. The level of intensity was off the charts! Nonetheless congrats USA. I can’t wait until they face off in Copa Oro!
For all the lack of class and mistakes, that was one of the most entertaining finals I've seen in years. A match for the ages and a win the USMNT will cherish for years.
Ehh, I think people aren't giving Reyna his respect. I'm a Mexico fan, pulisic didn't do much at all while Reyna was the one who was doing the majority of the things
Amazing game. Neither team played like they deserved to win but that's what made it enjoyable. Mad respect for El Tri. But if both teams play like that against teams in Europe, neither will make it far in the world cup. Both teams need to improve if they want to even somewhat compete against European teams...but this game, instant classic!
I live in Somalia and i am big fan of USMNT this game was fantastic, amazing and very entertaining football game i watched resume match and it was lovely game. Ale Moreno 😂🙌🏻
This game was fantastic! So much energy, intensity, fight till the end, the goal celebrations...my goodness, is anyone excited about the world cup? Because I am
This was a great competitive match up, obviously tensions are high every time these two face each other and even more so in a final. Minus the fans throwing objects on the field, horrible referee these two teams were going at it back and forth. This is what makes a great Classico
After watching my country (Trinidad & Tobaho) get knocked out of WCQ and being sad, this match reminded me why i fell in love with this beautiful game called football.
I really do appreciate how Gregg has built an incredibly young squad with more proven talent in europe than ever before. But he still has a lot of work to do. The US is always going to be superior on set pieces and crosses, but they have to be better with the ball in open play. The tactics and formation need to be more consistent, and he still hasn't found his best 11 yet. If Sargent has a poor Gold Cup, he shouldn't be starting anymore. Apart from John Brooks and Ream, the back line needs to be more solid. And Kellyn Acosta is not convincing as a first team player at all. Great result for this team, but much more improvement needed for WC qualifying.
Is it just me. Or both sides are making a really big deal out of this? 🤣😂 Mexico lost so now they have to reevaluate everything they have done? 🤣 no the fact is Mexico is still a good team. In concacaf. And for usmnt they played good honestly. There’s stuff both teams suffer. But what team in the world doesn’t? So let’s get this straight guys. Mexico and USA will always have this rivalry. For the longest time Mexico had upper hand. And now USA is finally bringing up their level. Finally. And you know what this means? That Mexico will have to bring up their level higher. Because that’s how rivalries work. I don’t see an end to this. And this is good for concacaf. Good for the fans. And I hope the rest of the world keeps an eye on what Mexico and USA will become. Bravo to both sides. 👌
Both USA and Mexico fans already talking about a Gold Cup Final rematch. But both teams should not get cocky! Remember, both teams need to beat other good countries like Costa Rica and Honduras before even getting to the final. So both sides should not be so arrogant as to assume you will make it to the Gold Cup Final by default. Both teams need to earn it.
This roster is clearly the best USMNT. They need more games together to get that cohesiveness that's needed. Would have been nice to make a run in the Copa America since they are missing a few teams to see what they can do after a few consecutive games together.
It's Messi not Messi firstly, and no Reyna is not in the same level as Messi. And also USA are the least favorites to survive in whichever group they are in. Source:Odds for 2022 world cup/CBSports/GOAL
@@lightsamael7242 keep hittin that pipe and calm down. Granted the US is no Brazil or Germany, they are in the top 20 in the world. They would embarrass a team like India.
@@LlamaLineIsto bruh India isn't even in the world cup what are you smoking smh. Let USA keep on playing against teams like Slovenia, India, Qatar, etc lol they would get thrashed against Brazil,Germany,Argentina,England....no wait...AGAINST EVERY OTHER TEAM THAT HAS QUALIFIED IN THIS WORLD CUP. Keep calling football soccer and there ain't no way y'all winning anything major in football
Any one who says Mckenzie's conceded PK was a handball needs to get learn the rules and get their eyes checked. First off, it was ball to hand, not hand to ball. Second, his hand is in a natural position. Seb sounds so biased when he says that is deserving of a penalty.
The first was a clear penalty and the second was absolutely not. A 5 minute VAR review? How in the world is that clear or obvious??? They need to rewrite the handball, and offside rule while they're at it
Nah, it was clear, they just kept showing the ref the bad angle where the arm and the ball lined up in the video. There was another angle which is the first one they showed and the moment I saw that one I caught that clear deflection off the hand. For me the handball was less debatable than the pulisic penalty
@@Jsilv934 are you insane lmao. Pulisic was clearly taken out, as opposed to what should've never been given as a handball. The rule is handling, not ball hitting the hand. There was no intent and it was in a natural position. Just say you're biased and move on.
@@zachharrison35 intentional or not, the deflection it took had considerable impact on the play. Also, it doesn't matter if it was in a natural position since it was extended from the body. While I consider the pulisic penalty debatable I wasn't too upset that it was called since like I said, it was debatable. What's funny is that I think you're the one who's biased so it's unlikely we'll agree anyway
@@Jsilv934 the rule is handling the ball. The ball hitting your hand in a natural position is not that. It's a subjective call what "too extended" is, which is why the hand ball rule needs to be changed. It doesn't matter with regards to the game bc guardado missed, but the overall rule needs to be changed. Premier League has had the same problem with terrible hand ball calls.
Pulisic was not exactly 'invisible'- after all he provided those well-placed corner kicks that led to the goals, not to mention the others who were on target but Ochoa saved.
At some point the US has to dominate CONCACAF if they're going to be a top WC contender. This includes Mexico. Yea, US got the win and the trophy; but they were still outplayed.
@Adam Chillingsworth If they would of won that world cup it would of been way different. Who has not missed a world cup since 94? And don't u remember all the finals mexico has won. Once usa was growing but went down but honestly i think they have a good future with these players. See what happens in da gold cup!!
so Seb wants to talk all about the pens but no one says anything about the other big ref moments, regarding cards and players that should have been sent off, imagine my surprise
Probably due to infrastructure. Mexico is the only other country that has it. Like Gold Cup at Azteca would be pretty cool. Plus there’s tons of Mexicans in America lol. It basically is played in Mexico anyway. Honduras Costa Rica and Jamaica also have a pretty big population in the US.
@@LilRedRasta Yeah, plus the U.S. is virtually neutral ground which you can't get in Mexico and Central America. Caribbean nations don't have proper facilities. But technically Canada could host.
Mexico needs the USA to become better. It hurts Mexico when they play other nations outside of North America because their region does not challenge them enough
US defends need to play much better in future. They need to replace some players especially number 6 Brooks. He's slow and looks like doesn't know what to do out there.
USMNT is a future serious contender for elite tournaments with the young roster they have going on. I truly believe this young team team has the potential to grow and mature over time
great game, I'm a USA FAN, but USA will never be a word cup winner. What a let down knowing the only great player was Puplisic! This is why he plays anywhere in the world other than the MLS!! USA WORST YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM EVER!!
#15 was TERRIBLE all game (USMNT). None of the USMNT Midfield (#8, #23, #10) checked-to the Ball - I have no idea what Berthenhaulter told them to do.... Play zone, not demand the ball, or maybe the ball fairy will come from the Sky and will do the work for you... It was so ugly and SLOPPY.
Mexico looked a bit better IMO, they have great young talent too. But USA squeaked out a win. I think Christian looked like he should’ve been the best player on the field. Didn’t have the ball much but looked good when he dod
