the audio of the games from like a decade ago sound so much better than nowadays. both the sound of the darts and the caller. i dont know whats up with that lately but i hope it can get fixed.

When these two played at their best, always classics, as two natural throwers, no mind games needed…let’s just go toe to toe…

Have a close look in their eyes.. the unbreakable will to win but having a huge amount of respect to their opponent - This is darts.

Has to be said the chemistry between John Gwynne and Stuart Pyke commentating in this game has to go down as one of the best in darts commentary history

Loved the mid 2010s era in darts. It’s a weird time right now where there’s barely a gap between the top guys and the mid range guys. Makes it fun and unpredictable.... but it somehow doesn’t seem right without the 1-2 dominant forces!! Not necessarily complaining, more adjusting!

Lewis was so good to watch. Just natural ability. Hope he gets back.

A month or two ago it would've been easy to pick the winner of MvG v Lewis, but now I have no idea since MvG has only played once since his surgery and was poor, and Lewis was in good form at the latest Player Championships. Very excited for this match in a few days

I completly agree that those were absolute classics between them, Taylor & one or 2 others. The fact that you have to love as a darts fans nowaday is, that you can really expect that quality by 32 or more players week in week out. Darts was never this unpredictable and well balanced as in the last months. So hyped for the Matchplay to begin where you can not really predict a top 4 or something like it. There are like 12-14 players i would not be suprised seeing winning this one. For my part fingers crossed for Smith, Luke or Dimi. Let's get it started ;)

I think the MVG and Lewis matches were the most enjoyable to watch. Both match each other on tempo and seem to feed off each other. Those Unicorn boards back then were sooo hard. So many bounce-outs. Even when Lewis' darts stuck in the board, you could see the tail slightly droop because the point is just barely hanging in. I used to complain about that era of Unicorn boards in league play because the Winmau Blade series was such a huge improvement (softer, rarely get bounce-outs, quieter, etc..)

Execellent fight at the oche. No screaming towards the other Player or the audience.

When Lewis is happy he play's well... But when he's angry he is not himself, and that's the main reason he lost form over the last couple of years.

Look at Lewis confidence here..... He clearly knew that he is a better player then him.... now he is just losing because of his fear to lose.....

I'm not a Lewis fan as his temperament is shite, but when he was in his pomp, the darts were special. He just won a players championship last week, so you never know. It would be good for them all to back on form. Doesn't seem right he's not in the mix when the other still are like Anderson and Wade.

When Lewis is on it nobody better but he's just as likely to throw 26 as 180 🤔
