A Memorial for Joe 

Watching this a year later, itstill makes me cry. One year ago today Penn Staters across the nation lost the greatest man. It was and still is a tough loss.We remember Joe Paterno for the man that he was and forever shall be, 409 wins who made Penn State a better place to be, not all of the crap that you hear on the news. I lost a dear friend of mine on this date last year. R.I.P Coach Joe Paterno. You will never be forgotten! We love and miss you!

This is my first time watching this video after all these years. Joe Paterno is and was an amazing and extra special man, coach and mentor to millions. His influence was far reaching. He will never be forgotten. He left a mega huge legacy. To those of you who hated him didn't know him. Those of you who hated him could only wish you were one-onethousandth of a man he was and leave a mega far reaching legacy he left. I and countless others love and miss Joe Pa + thank you Mrs Paterno. Thank you to whomever posted this video, very informative.

Joe died of a broken heart, not because he was guilty of a coverup, but because he dedicated his life to his team, his university, and his community, and he had it all wrenched out of his hands without any say whatsoever

Rocket - I'm just curious what you find so offensive in the comments in general. You give praise to a man based on his coaching, and others find him offensive because he put the silly game of football ahead of what he KNEW was happening to younger students, a total absence of ethics on his part. So . . . what, exactly, are you going to report?? You, "pal," are not the only one who can report an account, you, "clown," are out of line. So chill.

Joe paterno was a great coach and a good man, unfortunately he was an old school guy and a person he considered a friend took advantage of his friendship. It easy to understand some of the awful comments from quite frankly miserable people they never had a real friend. I mean the world is going to end I need help kind friend that's the kind of friend Joe paterno was. He simply could not believe a friend of his could do that and sadly we know Sandusky did and when confronted with very credible evidence he reported to the university president or athletic director and police I believe? Joe paterno found out who his "friends" were and iam very sad he did, he died and the world is a little worse off because he is gone.

This is like one of those scenes from a movie where the "hero" is memorialized at his funeral, only to have the truth to their misdeeds uncovered later.

laurdiz - correct me if i'm wrong, but this might not be the best time to praise the coach - i mean, you've been watching the news, right? and you shd b aware that his statue will likely be coming down - it's important to choose the right heroes and role models, you know what i mean?

I am stunned this is is even up on here in full. I have to say, tho, seeing all of his former players and friends defend him, especially Michael Robinson and Phil Knight, is equal parts Laudatory and cringe-inducing.
