I would really like to get one of his sketchbooks. They are almost out of print. Much love to all his friends, family an fans. Let his passing also be a reminder that we don't have all the time in the world and enjoy the present moment.
My goal was to meet Kim some day. He was a huge inspiration for what I love to do (drawing, painting, etc.). I could not swallow the fact that Kim was gone. He was such an amazing artist that no one else could replicate. Kim was so amazingly talented and special. My condolences go out to Kim's whole family. I can't imagine going on tour for what you think is another normal trip, and having lost Kim. My prayers go out to everyone! May Kim rest in peace! Don't quit drawing or painting because you are sad Kim is gone. Keep drawing for Kim, because that's what he would have wanted you to do!
I went to about 3 of his shoes and I planned on going to the one in ny, but sadly he passed before that. I had one conversation with him in person and he was very kind, it’s sad that he passed away so sudden :(
I hope they have an autopsy to at least warn others if it was something preventable. So many comic artists sit bent forward all day long and sudden death (e.g. from aortic dissection like Kentaro Miura) seems to become more possible due to this body position and being sedentary and tensed to draw.
@@VIEWITIS Very true. I hope posture is something that brings more concern to the artist community. It is a concern and something that is not enough talked about.
@@joemaxx5610 It's such a tough nut to crack. Leaning over the elbows seems to enhance focus, so a lot of artists can't abandon this posture. I think yoga, Kneesovertoesguy ATG Standards, daily 2 hour walks, etc., could all help, but a studio like SuperAni would need to incentivize all members to take part and enjoy.
The very first video that inspires me to draw is KJG's teaching video. KJG is my teacher and will always be. He is the very master of the art, he is humble and inclusive.
As I have said before the passing of Kim Jung Gi hit me harder than the passing of Salvador Dali. I was in high school in art class when the news broke. My friends and I were devastated. Now another great artist whom I revere and admire has left this plane of existence and I am more heavy hearted then before. His work is an inspiration to us all. He will not be forgotten as I will teach about him in my art classes to my students and the great many joys and masterful works that he has shared with this world. God bless and keep you, his family and friends in the palm of his hand and lift you up. Sincerely, Doug Howard
It's been a year today. An I still cant believe it, meeting him was one of my most treasure memories, he will always continue to inspire me, rest In piece great Master

I have hard time deciding what to write here, I'm extremely sad even to this day he departure was so early and out of nowhere at such young age it's so unfair. Even tho I (sadly) never got to meet him in person I could tell he was a great human being by watching his streams, interviews, and the care and passion he put into his work if could be called "work" as it was 100% his passion and I highly doubt he ever saw it as work or a chore which is probably the reason why we could always seeing him with a smile whenever he was drawing. He was for the longest time a living legend and now he became a TRUE Legend to never be forgotten through his art and personality as a down to earth human being. You are now Resting Among Legends Kim Jung Gi! You certainly earned the spot! My thoughts and prayers goes to his family and close friends, I wish you all the best in these hard times you all going through.
Few modern artists were as beloved and full of love themselves as KGJ. He was humble, caring, an inquisitive and endlessly creative soul. We have lost a lot too early but rarely someone leaves the world a legacy so great. Rest in greatness, Kim.
This is a sad and shocking news for me. I used to watch his live streams and be amazed by his skill for hours. For me he's the best artist in this generation sadly he's no longer with us. We lost a great master artist. He's my inspiration when it comes to drawing. This world just lost a great legendary artist... this is sad, very sad.
I'm sorry teacher Hyun Jin Kim to give a message as hard and strong as the death of a loved and remembered one. He left but left a tremendous legacy of artists around the world who will always remember him for having had the privilege of learning this art through a genius of painting such as Kim Jung gi.❤
Sending love and prayers to Hyun Jin, Boin, Karl, Master Jung Gi's family and everyone at Super Ani. Gone too soon. Can't help but think about how much more he could have done. His potential was unmatched. But looking at his works, he has given us so much - enough to last our life time. And may we find comfort and peace in his legacy. Rest in peace, master.
KJG's impact on the art world won't be forgotten. The characters and worlds he created were surreal and humorous. Despite many artists being intimidated by his skill, many were inspired to improve. He was really someone who seemed incapable of being selfish as he shared so much art and art knowledge over and over again. Even when KJG would do a simple perspective lecture, it always had his unique peculiarities that made him stand out from the rest. I'm glad there are livestreams of him just drawing like any other day at his desk and Miss Boin translating his jokes. There's probly parts in many livestreams of him joking about death. Maybe his sarcastic and dark sense of humor is something we can take comfort in, while he was kind, he was a joker and spoke his mind and drew what he wanted, whenever he wanted, however he wanted. When I listen to his videos it really feels like he never departed. It was an honor to have lived during his time. Hyunjin, thank you for being the brains of the operation and making sure Jung Gi had the environment he needed to do what he does. An artist having a loyal assistant to handle the business is a real blessing but it was always clear you guys were meant to work together. I'm sure there's a lot of stundents and the Superani team who still need your guidence. We all look forward to what comes next from Superani.
You and KJG are in my prayers, now and forever. May KJG's family find peace and the strength to carry on...as KJG would want them and us artists to do. Kim Jung Gi will never be forgotten.
KJG is among the titans of art, like Michelangelo and few others. Every drawing is a gift, and we were lucky enough to receive them as they happened. His contribution to humanity will be etched in history for as long as people appreciate art for art’s sake.
merci. I will pay my respect to the saint-malo place. rest in peace. and all my thoughts to his family and friends. much respect and thank you for sharing those admirable good vibes mister kimJungi.
One of the finest artists to ever grace this earth, the master. With a heavy heart goodbye and with the greatest admiration thank you for all that you gave us. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
