Peter your photography skills never cease to amaze me Seriously the outdoor footage gave me the feeling of having it on my similar sized wrist It definitely always leaves me wanting more and lean to and away from watches I wasn't quite sure of without actually going into an AD Thanks as always my friend Really 👍
Just received my bronze white dial, and it is just as good as my steel burgundy AD8. Very slim so really comfortable to wear, and the FKM rubber strap is even more comfortable than the leather. Personally I like the wavy pattern, the gloss ceramic bezel insert and the tightness of the bezel. Wouldn’t change a thing. Slides underneath motorbike leathers with no problem. Can’t wait to get the AD7 in Damascus steel. Really interesting case finish. Are you planning to review this, because your photography is fantastic. Thanks for alerting me to this bronze version.
I purchased the black and steel version about 6 months ago and I can attest that the bezel does soften up over time and usage. Love these new models, great vid as always Pete!
I agree on all your comments but one.......I rather like the wavy pattern! What matt brushing concerned ....when Breitling first introduced their Blackbird I found it really stood out from all their glossy models as well!
I have the first iteration in Red with a red sunburst dial (Limited edition #300). Absolutely love it! It comes looking almost gold... but patinas nicely. The movement came in at +-1spd and couldn't be happier with it. The bezel came crazy tight but loosens up after about 1 week of constant use. Bang for buck... nothing really comes close for the $600 mark (In the bronze market).
I have 2 wise adamascus and they are brilliant, had no problems with the bezels at all. Had them nearly a year now with no problems. Can't understand why they make limited editions on some of their best looking models. The blue bronze looks nice. It would also look good in stainless steel, then it would be a good alternative to the blue Tudor black bay 58. For the price you can't go wrong. Great review as always.
All I can think of with the limited production is it helps justify what I think is a somewhat high price. I just purchased what I think is a good quality watch on a SS bracelet (Phoibos Kraken) with the same movement, for less than half the price. Full disclosure, it was during a sale. But many watch geeks wait for sales to buy something they don't actually need. Your RU-vid watch videos are so well produced. Really outstanding.
Still a beauty, no matter what. Even in strange numbers... 333... 666, just lovely! Cheers Pete, I'm still in olives hell, needed some charm, thanks mate.
Thanks God! the little devil 👿 is in hell... 666 what beautiful 😍 number!!! Be safe my friend Stavros "η ελιά κάνει τους άντρες", "μια ελιά και μια 🍅 ντομάτα κάνουνε σωστή σαλάτα 🥗", "ψωμί 🍞 κι ελιά και Cotsa βασιλιά" -- Γιέ μου πού πας? -- Μάνα θα πάω στις ελιές 🤣 🤣🥳
I got the blue/green version and I have to agree the wearability is absolutely on point. The bezel is a bit stiff at first but loosens over time. And yeah, even though I really like the dial with the wave pattern and the colors, the legibility does suffer at certain angles. Another point is the 904L steel, I just can’t see a difference to 316L. If it’s cheaper I’d rather have the 316L. Now the blue bronze one looks fantastic, too bad it’s limited.
Bronze is starting to win me over. I'm drawn to the chocolate version in this example. Thx for mentioning that crucial point, that the manufacturer is listening to feedback and incorporating it back in. That means I'll be watching Wise more in the future.
The blue is really nice - but man I'd like to see something similar in green, or teal. As the patina changes those would be fab Edit - I'm certain that silicone grease would solve the bezel. And the wave dial is their signature - I think that counts a lot.
Considering I as well as many others never turn the bezel that is a non-issue. In fact I like that it is hard to move and stays in plays. Just placed an order for this piece. I really like it's appearance and just about everything about it.
I'm keen on the steel brown dial variant. Just waiting for the aussie dollar to improve a bit haha. Does look good with the bit of brushing, wouldn't be mad if they did that retroactively on the steel
I like these and the steel versions a lot. For me, the shiny bezel, polished case, and the wave pattern don’t go with my personal taste. I love that they brushed the bronze, went with a matte bezel, and removed the wave pattern. The only other thing I’d love to see is a smaller case option: 39 or 38mm.
These are beautiful watches and in the past, the brand has impressed more than once. However, I would like this in 39 mm diameter and in Stainless steel with brushed surfaces.
Went a little watch crazy this year, so I'm trying to scale back, but these are very nice! I like the Miyota 9000 series movements. They certainly do appear to have replaced the NH35 as the go to microbrand movement of choice.
What a gorgeous watch. Something about it reminds me of William Wood but might just be the bronze. Wonder if they could use one of those scratch resistant coatings to seal it from oxidising. I'd love a bronze watch but only if it stayed that beautiful rose gold colour.
I really like the brown bezel version, and would have bought it no questions asked if it was paired with a brown dial as well. Maybe one day they will make that one. I also agree Peter on dropping the wave pattern now. It has run it's course I think.
If the watch is used by a diver they would never ever want to see a accidental movement of the bezel. I agree it needs to be TIGHT ! There is a green available that beats both of the colors.
Is there still appetite for bronze? I'm not sure I was waiting for that and would the patina not negate the polish vs brush finish of the case? At any rate, I'd be more interested in that change-up in steel, I guess. I find the blue one very flat looking. Maybe ok for some, but for me I think the relatively elaborate applied markers are elevated by that wavy pattern. If you go for this design, I think you'd do best to also go for the wavy texture. It needs it, somehow. With regards to stiff bezels: is this not actually an advantage in that there is little chance of it moving once a position is set?
Those look nice, fantastic dimensions The blue one does it for me Not perfect and really blingy, you're right (but you see, I'm in this funny gilt dial appreciation phase rn...) The grey/white dial color feels wrong somehow, idk, should have it in hand, I suppose
How are you still liking these? I’m very interested in getting the brown one. Could you do a video showing the progress of the patina? That’d be great. Thanks for the review:)
Nice looking watch when new but when you're down $1000 AUD and it looks old but is relatively worthless, can you risk that amount of buyers remorse? Regrettably, doubt they'll sell out anytime soon. I'd either go much cheaper with an Ali watch and just embrace the bronze experience, or save $1k towards an Oris, a Rado Captain Cook, or even a BB58 Bronze. Great editing and composition as ever Pete!
You will find many microbrands do not hold up well in resale However that said, I think we buy micro brands because they are great value to start off with rather than thinking about re-sale cheers
How do you actually call any watch a "Dive Watch" when it is originally sold on a leather strap? It's like having a "Dive Watch" with no water resistance.
I agree, thats why I didn't call it a dive watch. I don't think they call it a diver either in their literature...ideally a Dive watch should carry some sort of certification to be classified as such 👍
Hio Shaun I downloaded the song from RU-vid free music, but it download as "music download"..so no idea of the name. Im sure its a common theme in their library, I just though it was catchy 👍 Cheers
It's not so much as being 'good', it's just another material. However, bronze oxidises and changes colour and character. It usually goes darker and dull with each piece turning out a unique look cheers
Bravo Peter, a nice bronze watch, my favorite metal especially when changed color, after time, have a sick green color remember to me the movie Nostalgia of Andrei Tarcofski 👆
