Excellent, you have done yourself,s proud at bluebell. Sadly I could not come, the wife had other ideas pity. Also thanks to I,m getting a new shed for upgrading the current layout, on the budget model railway method. Thank you very much.
Hi John, glad we could help and thanks for the support. Brexit has nothing on the domestic negotiations required to attend all the exhibitions we attend!
Well done guys, great to see the finished layout, whoever won the raffle will have hours of fun!! I particularly liked the factory building. It was a really great day out looking forward to next years show and lots more videos from you both in the meantime. Wishing you well.
The chap the won it was really excited as he had never won anything before and has just started his layout. The factory building is an excellent download from 3DK . Lots of exciting plans already in the pipeline for next year, watch this space.
Great stuff as always i seem to enjoy watching the smaller layouts with the tighter curves,i also love your station im going to make one when i get time. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mike & Douglas great video, and that's how to build a model railway on a budget you have done an amazing job, well done to you both. Regards George..
Yes we were pleasantly surprised by Bachmann who came up with it at the last minute, it was a big help. 3DK had already agreed to supply for free. We raised £75 for the Fenchurch loco fund
Many thanks again for your support. The chap who won the layout in the raffle was really chuffed and we raised some money for charity so it was a win win all round. Big plans for next next year
That was the set kindly donated by Bachmann so that's what we had as the prize. To be fair we don't worry much about that kind of thing we are more into just having fun playing trains
Really great vid chaps.Had wondered how it had gone.Sorry...i keep asking dimensions questions !!! The TV box..What size please....As you know i am planning a small run round layout like this,...using my triang Super 4 Rad 1 curves...The dimensions i was looking at for a wooden baseboard are 3 feet by 4 feet,,,(As approx one of your previous layouts)....However the base has to be as leight weight as possible..A tv box would be great..Just wondered your dimensions on this please ? How did you acquire the box...? Thanks so much, yet again...Ade
Hi Ade, it's 32in wide, I didn't think to measure the length but it's a first radius curve with two short straights so approx 40in+ ? Our TV broke so we had to buy a new one, I was saving the box for the carboard and then I realised I could use it as the base. Serendipity
Many Thanks...I will try and source something without buying a telly...Might have a word round some TV shops/Retailers....Thanks so much for reply..Ade
Just looked on E bay....Not too closely,But it seems you can buy cardboard boxes purposely for moving TV`s about..Ie Moving house....!!! Will investigate further
NOOOOOO are u serious i was doing my DofE and walked passed it and did not expect you to be there. i'm a big fan and i'm sorry i couldn't make it. will you be doing it again next year?
I attempted this myself a few years ago at the GCR show on the DEMU stand in T-gauge. Let's just say, you guys got a lot more done and it probably cost a lot less too.
Budget Model Railways biggest issue I faced was the movement of the floor in the marquee we were in combined with the dirt in the air provided by the steam locos operating only twenty feet from where we were sat.
What sort of life do people have when they sum of all their thoughts about the video comes done to the very obvious fact that they are "first". Is that the sum of their achievements in life?
