What’s in this video
A video fly round of an architect concept design for Cambridge Children’s Hospital. It swoops around the back of the hospital, which has a multi coloured façade and lots of windows. You can see the large garden at the back of the building, with trees and climbing and play areas. As the video comes around to the front of the building, it stops at the front entrance which says Cambridge Children’s Hospital. People can be seen inside the building and it has lots of lights.
Then there are a series of concept design images.
1) A concept design for the hospital main foyer. It has high wooden ceilings and a marble effect floor. There are trees and planters. A woman stands behind a wooden reception desk. The front doors are large and made of glass. It feels light and airy.
2) A concept design for the central courtyard. It is open to the sky and is surrounded by all five floors of the hospital on all sides and the large glass windows allow you to see into the corridors. There are people sitting or playing. There are trees and planting, and colourful tables and chairs.
3) A close up on a concept design for the play areas in the central courtyard. Children are able to climb on the raised block-type levels. You can see the garden in the background.
4) A concept design for a courtyard coming off a ward area. It has a covered area with a wooden slatted ceiling and a table where people are sitting playing chess. There is another area that is open to the sky, so people can sit outside. There are trees and planting.
5) A concept design for the large terrace on an upper level at the front of the hospital. There are lots of trees and planting. It has lots of light and is open to the sky. There are people playing ping pong and bouncing a ball. There are places to sit and relax.
6) A concept design for a hospital ward area. There is a reception with an orange façade and blue sofa-style seating in the waiting area. The corridor feels light and airy and has clear visibility into the ward through large glass windows.
7) A concept design for a corridor space on an upper level of the hospital. It has floor to ceiling glass looking out over the central courtyard. There is a large play rocket in the background and children are playing. There is low bench seating all along the corridor.
8) A concept design showing a cut through of Cambridge Children’s Hospital from the side. You can see the bedrooms and a school space. You can see places where people can sit and eat. You can see all levels of the hospital including the basement where some of the research areas are.

The fly around video continues swooping up from the front of the hospital to a birds eye view of the whole site. The video then mixes through to the white Cambridge Children’s Hospital logo on a blue background and it says #AWholeNewWay
