Crocodile Bridge used to be my favourite camp for rhinos about 20 years ago -- before the major poaching started. I think this area was heavily affected, as I used to see rhino almost every time I visited, often quite close to the camp. One night when I camped in a tent along the fence, a big rhino bull came grazing right next to my tent along the fence, waking me up!

We've still seen one or two rhino close to the camp but not as many as on our first visit 7 years ago. The biggest disappointment is seeing them with their horns cut off. I understand why but it is heartbreaking to see that poaching has made this necessary.

Excellent footage and good voice over, very confident in front of the cameras. Good to see quality from our age group. We are videographers (husband and wife team) based in Preston area.

I very much appreciate your comments. I had to smile about being confident in front of the camera as, I can assure you, I feel anything but! I've learned that the trick is to take a deep breath and just go for it, plus, of course, more than one take!

Beautiful footage - and there's still eight more episodes to come! I'm from Germany, and along with Satara, Croc Bridge is my favorite camp in the park. My next trip to Kruger will be in February, with stays in Satara, Croc Brigde (8 nights each), and Malelane (5 nights) - which will add up to a total of 162 nights in the park. And still I'm missing a pangolin sighting and a clear shot of a civet.

Many thanks for the appreciation. Lots of people seem to love Crocodile Bridge but, somehow, it's not for us. What happens when you finally get the pangolin do you stop going back 😀

Very enjoyable! It's strange but leopards never seen to catch my eye!!

Thanks! Leopards are not always easy to spot, we sat with that one for over half an hour during which time two cars drove straight by assuming we were looking at a pair of eagles in a nearby tree. I'm sure we have driven past quite a few leopards ourselves!

Wonderful leopard sighting. Certainly getting us in the mood for our first ever trip. Not long now. Thanks for sharing.

What I didn't say was that we sat and watched her for over half an hour and two cars drove right by without even noticing! Always pays to ask folk what they have spotted.

5:08 Everyone wants to see lions, but leopard is more elusive, master of disguise and hiding. Even experienced guides can search for it for days and not to see it. Leopard sighting is quite rare even though animal is almost as numerous as lions in Kruger Park .

Absolutely true! We sat with this leopard for around half an hour and during that time two cars drove by and didn't even see it!

Beautiful ! May I know what camera equipment you are using for the video?
@oldcodgerwithacamera

Thanks. I used several cameras - a GoPro Hero 5 for recording through the windscreen. a DJI Pocket 2 for talking to the camera, interior shots and some side shots, a Canon M50 with a 55-200mm lens for wildlife video and, finally, a Canon 7D Mk II with Sigma 150-600mm lens for stills. All acquired for different purposes over the years but which work well in combination for this trip.

Many thanks for watching. At the end of the credits it says filmed in May/June 2022. In previous years we have been in September/October and had many more sightings then.
