Gosh Rebecca, that's an amazing amount of me made garments. So much work and the outfits look fantastic. I really like your style because it's smart, semi casual, comfortable, cohesive and very stylish. It has really helped me to choose patterns and fabrics to go for a similar aesthetic in my own wardrobe as I've only been sewing my own clothes for a year and at 64 I wanted a similar cohesive wardrobe. Very inspiring, thank you. ❤

Thanks so much Trudy! It’s taken a lot of trial and error (and practice) to get my wardrobe the way it is today! I’m so thrilled with how it’s working together now. Happy sewing!

That dress is gorgeous on you! You are really helping me build courage to learn to self-draft. Loving this series.

Wow you are absolutely amazing. Your choice of fabrics and designs are so creative and inspirational. I love your colour choices and organic fabrics. The skirt that you are not entirely sure about would look lovely on you with that wrap top. I just wonder where you find the time to do all that sewing. Perhaps you could share your time management and how you go about choosing and co-ordinating your fabrics, designs and colour ways and actual sewing time. Thank you for such an inspirational and creative vlog. I am in awe of all that you bring to the sewing community. I love your vlogs - just love them❤

Thanks so much Francesca! I do love to sew as much as possible! But that’s a great idea for a video- on my list! I usually batch cut patterns and fabric and sew on the weekends. I do have a series on planning and sewing a seasonal wardrobe if you missed it. This is the first MMM where I’ve really loved all my looks!

Happy 18th Anniversary to you and your husband. 13:29 I love your self-drafted print dress. I'm finding that I love self-drafted garments better than I do commercial patterns. It adds more of a wow factor knowing that you created the garment yourself. It's nice that you mentioned how your sewing has improved. That gives a lot of us newbies hope lol. The helpful videos from the sewing community and reading comments have really helped me in my sewing journey and I really appreciate it. I have only made a small amount of garments but when I look at them, I definitely see how I can improve on them.

Thanks so much Rose! I really love drafting my own patterns- though it is a lot more work. It takes quite a few samples to get it right. My biggest help with commercial patterns is having my body slopers. I can tweak the fit before I cut my fabric. If you look through my blog you can see my earlier pieces and how much my sewing abilities and style have changed. I like to think of each new make as a wearable muslin- I never expect the first one to be perfect. Each piece you make helps you improve and grow so it's totally worth it! Happy sewing!

@@SewPomona You're welcome! Yes, self-drafting is a lot of work but for some strange reason I gravitate towards difficult things lol. I self-drafted the very first garment I every made which was a 16 panel Tulle dress overlay using my Bootstrap dress form. It turned out okay for my first try but it definitely needs some work. After that I bought a few commercial patterns (dress, pants/shirt, coat) so that I could use them to get me started with self-drafting the basic things that I wear daily. So I agree that having a commercial pattern around is helpful. Right now I have temporarily set my sewing aside so that I can make a bodice block that fits my exact measurements. I had always heard about them but it wasn't clicking since I was new to sewing. Now that I have found my niche in self-drafting, it has made me aware of how useful it is to have a BB. It's overwhelming to know that I can create any garment I want with a BB that fits my body.

Rebecca - you did this thoughtfully and beautifully. I can see the amount of work you put into sharing your Me Made Made. I too try to put out my wardrobe for the week (not much me made yet!) and I find this really simplifies dressing in the week too. Thank you again - your content is an inspiration. S

What is the fabric of the three tee shirts?
@SewPomona
@SewPomona Месяц назад
Hi Carol! The pink and dusty blue are from Stonemountain & Daughter but Out of Stock. European Designer Deadstock - Organic Cotton Jersey - Pale Pink and Designer Deadstock - Tencel/Spandex Jersey - Dusty Blue. The white tee is from a few years ago so I'm not sure. It's a cotton spandex knit as well, but heavier in weight.
