My main wish for a Rome Remastered mod would be (and I haven't been able to find a mod, but maybe I'm not looking for it well): Replace the unit skins to ones from say RS2 or EB, but keep the same stats from vanilla Rome (maybe tweaked just slightly so that the OP units are still strong, but not OP strong), fix the Ptolemaic kingdom to actually look like their troops instead of from "The Mummy", add some more regions on the map, but otherwise don't change the vanilla Rome gameplay, and remove/replace fantasy/a-historical units with historical ones. Basically I just want the vanilla gameplay, with just a little few tweaks to units, and nicer, more historic looking visuals. Haven't found a mod yet that does this, hope I will one day. Would scratch that itch where I want to casually play Rome, but don't want to get invested in a huge total overhaul mod.
I believe there is a mod that does this... I have to find it though. Can't recall the name. I don't believe it replaces the unit skins however. Sounds like a project you'll have to start xD You can ask around on the RTW community discord as well: discord.gg/Cy7VXyRc
yeah, full replacement mods for these games all suck. Sure they add depth and historical accuracy, but the fun factor dial is set to zero, id rather play unmodded
@@GooseGumlizzard I find them fun, but not all the time. Need to be in a specific mood, and can't play them casually. So if I just want to muck about and have a quick campaign, can't do that with them.
